Some residents of Antigua and Barbuda were awakened early by the rumblings of an earthquake, which occurred near the islands on Boxing Day.
The UWI Seismic Research Centre said the quake, which occurred around 6:30 am, had a magnitude of 3.8.
The quake’s epicentre was off the coast of Barbuda at a depth of 52.9 kilometres.

Who writes these reports? “Antigua and Barbuda rocked by earthquake on Boxing Day” seems a bit over the top for a quake measuring 3.8. A journalist’s greatest gift is to report events factually, without exaggeration or drama. I wonder how many citizens even perceived that there was a tremor! If Antigua and Barbuda truly “rocked”, only the dead would be unaware of its occurence!
