A Global Appeal for Peace: PM Browne’s Vision for International Music Concerts

Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda made a unique proposal at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday: a series of International Music Concerts for Peace, intended to raise global awareness and funds to support displaced persons and conflict victims.
“Music is a universal language,” Browne said.
“In moments when words fall short, music carries our collective cries for peace and justice.”
The concerts, Browne explained, would serve not only as performances but as a global appeal for peace, transcending borders and conflicts.
The funds raised would go toward supporting displaced communities affected by war and violence.
Browne’s concept for the concerts stems from a letter he sent to UN Secretary-General António Guterres earlier this month, outlining his vision for a global musical movement for peace.
“Let us choose peace,” Browne said in his closing remarks. “Let us choose the survival of our one human race.”
