Antigua-Barbuda: Lawyers file cross-appeal in sale of Alfa Nero

3

Lawyers representing the Antigua & Barbuda government say they have filed a cross-appeal indicating that the daughter of a Russian oligarch, Andrey Guryev, has no proprietary rights or interest in preventing the sale of the multi-million-dollar luxury yacht, Alfa Nero, last month.

Prior to the sale of the yacht, the government indicated that no owner had stepped forward since the vessel had been sanctioned by the United States and the United Kingdom following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and that discussions with US government officials had taken place.

However, two separate entities and individuals claimed ownership interests in the luxury vessel, prompting legal action.

OF COURSE, they did because that’s what they’re paid to do. That is a very dumb comment. Why would the government’s lawyers say otherwise? Lol.

    • Just like her lawyers were paid to do. Why didn’t she come forward when it was published that if there was interest to state your case. You wait until sanctions and the like was lifted and now a come forward. I am so sick of our behaviour. She not suppose to get um. Sickening.

  2. Bottom line is, do not fight for what does not belongs to you.
With employees of the owner still on board, the boat was not abandoned either. The government renegades are trying some creative enrichment scheme.
They would not be concerned if it was a 5,000 dollars boat.
