Antigua Barbuda Defence Force Rescues 6 Individuals in Swift Search and Rescue Operations

2

The Antigua Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) Search and Rescue Team (SART) responded to 3 incidents during the early hours of this morning (3 Oct 23).

A family of 4 in Piggots were recovered and relocated, along with two individuals in separate disabled vehicles on Airport Road. During these Rescue Missions, no harm came to the Team or whom they rescued.

As remnants of the storm continue to promote rainfall and wind gusts, the ABDF encourages all residents to pay attention to the cautions given by the Meteorological Services, National Office of Disaster Services and all other authorities.

  1. ABDF TO THE RESCUE: …NOT THE SAME WITH HAITIAN GUNMEN

    At least two things:

    (i) …The Team did not have to ‘Search,’ but ‘RESCUED: and

(ii) …It is not going to be the same with ‘…HAITIAN GUNMEN.’

There might be ‘SEARCHING,’ but certainly- ‘…NO RESCUING.’

Much better ‘…RESCUING’ citizens at home, than ‘…FIGHTING HAITIAN GUNMEN.’

COMMENDABLE, SOLDIERS:(i) ‘…CIVIC DUTY TO CITIZENS: AND (ii) …NATIONAL PATRIOTISM.’
