Scheduled direct flights between Antigua and Barbuda and Lagos, Nigeria, are expected to begin by the fourth quarter of 2025, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced.

Speaking in Parliament during debate on an Air Services Agreement with Rwanda, Mr Browne said negotiations are also ongoing with Ghana and other West African nations to improve regional connectivity.

The Prime Minister Browne highlighted Air Peace’s role in keeping LIAT (2020) operational for over a year, crediting the Nigerian airline’s investment with maintaining vital air links in the Caribbean.

The upcoming route is expected to boost tourism, trade and cultural ties between the Caribbean and West Africa.

  1. UUUUUHHH! Back down that road again!!??? ABLP has no shame nor sense. Well, perhaps there is self-enrichment involved.

  2. Is another November to December repeat of the African migrant smuggling about to repeat itself?
I guess the damage was not completed so we are going at it again.
Or is it that the plan was so successful that it is being repeated?

  3. More human trafficking? Bird people nah easy tal. These fools will get us banned from every country in the west.

  4. The race seen on for the African route,TT has another group trying to lunch the direct route and I hear Georgetown is getting ready to have its own challenger.may the best man win.

  5. Been waiting for this for months now.
Can visit my country and come back on a direct flight.
When is the exact schedule happening?

  6. People, believe it when it comes to fruition. Promises,Promises, and then nothing. That Air Peace owner, would surely out duped Gaston Browne. A way Antigua Airways garne? Is it down at Cooks like the EBooks.

  7. It’s a novel idea to have direct flights between the motherland and Antigua. But when the first experiment of this was tried it turns out to be a disaster for the country because of an alleged human trafficking smuggling.

This airline have had a very checkered history and is known to be involved in unlawful activities.

If we want direct flights from Africa we can seek more competent airlines such as Ethiopian Airlines, which is one the the best in Africa with an impeccable safety record.

  8. Africans don’t even trust Africans. Why is the government in such a rush to do business with them when they behaved so poorly the last time we attempted to do business with them.
