The Governments of Antigua and Barbuda and the Republic of Kosovo today signed agreements simultaneously establishing diplomatic relations and abolishing visa requirements between their nations.

The agreements were signed in Washington, DC by the Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda, Sir Ronald Sanders, and the Republic of Kosovo’s Ambassador, Vlora Citaku.

Commenting on the two agreements, Sir Ronald said that “they are in keeping with the policies of the Gaston Browne administration to maintain friendly and cooperative relations with as many nations as possible and to abolish the requirements for visas for tourism, business and investment”.

Ambassador Sanders noted that with this latest abolition of visa requirements, the Antigua and Barbuda passport “continues its high rating as one of the strongest and most acceptable in the world”.

At the signing ceremony, the two Ambassadors expressed the joint view that global inter-connectedness in telecommunication and transportation provide real opportunities for trade, investment and tourism which will be vigorously pursued.

Ambassador Citaku said that her government recognizes that, despite its size, Antigua and Barbuda plays a dynamic role in Caribbean and Hemispheric affairs.  In this connection, she said the Republic of Kosovo looked forward to cooperating with Antigua and Barbuda based on the joint commitment of the two nations to the principles of international peace, respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and non-interference in the international affairs of states.

  1. Totally irrelevant to the common Antiguan & Barbudan national. Soon everybody will have open access to Antigua & Barbuda…..we still need a visa to go to Canada

    • Why is it totally irrelevant? I would be interested in traveling there and as the article says could be good for tourism and investments. You people think America and Canada are the only countries in the world

  2. Ron Saunders does not have any work to do. I hope the taxpayers of Antigua and Barbuda are not paying this grifter. If he’s not writing articles he’s obtaining useless visa waivers for war torn and poverty stricken countries that no Antiguan has ever heard about.

If you wanna be relevant get us us African visa waivers, we need visas to go to most countries in the mother land.

  3. This is great news. Antigua’s passport is becoming more powerful every month. The more visa-free agreements we have, the more powerful our economy will become. Also, the more freedom our Antigua citizens will have in becoming globally mobile for business, work and education. Let’s get a mutual visa-free agreement with China ASAP!

  4. We lost scholarship from Serbia (worth couple of millions) for Antigua and Barbuda students by recognizing Kosovo (Unrecognized by United Nations) independence. Hope we get CIP sales increase to War Criminals coming from there, and their famous organ market! How about Antigua and Ambassador Sanders recognize Taiwan, let me see what we get from China! BOOM!
