Canadian market resurgence has ignited optimism within Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector.

After a successful tour, Tourism Authority CEO Colin C. James noted the Canadian market’s remarkable rebound, with over 100% growth in July 2023 compared to last year.

James highlighted the significance of the Canadian market, emphasizing relationships with key tour operators like Air Canada Vacations and West Jet Vacations.

He lauded the effective efforts of the Antigua and Barbuda team in Canada, despite their smaller size, for promoting the destination.

The Canadian market’s resurgence showcases the country’s adaptability and attractiveness, bolstering confidence in the recovery of Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism industry.

  1. One question. Did Colin James manage to persuade his Canadian counterpart to change their minds on the current visa restrictions on Antiguans travelling to Canada? 🇨🇦

As far as I understand, Canadians do not have the same caveats/restrictions placed on them when coming to our beautiful island.

The Canadian 🍁 resurgence is fantastic news for us, but wouldn’t it be nice to have a LEVEL playing field as well?

Colin, why not drop two words in Gaston Browne’s deaf ears 👂🏾👂🏾
