Antigua and Barbuda’s Sandals Grande Antigua Voted Caribbean’s Most Romantic Resort

3

Sandals Grande Antigua has claimed the coveted title of “Caribbean’s Most Romantic Resort for 2023” at the prestigious World Travel Awards.

Surpassing notable competitors in the Caribbean category, this achievement shines a spotlight on Antigua and Barbuda.

The General Manager, Matthew Cornall, attended the award ceremony held at Sandals Grande St Lucia.

While Antiguan brands received nominations in various categories, not all secured victories.

Jamaica emerged as a standout winner, clinching multiple prestigious awards.

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, continue to recognize excellence across the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries worldwide.

  1. Congratulations to Sandals.Back in the 1960’s that Hotel known then as Anchorage Hotel. It won Best Hotel in the Caribbean.Antiguans had top levels of Management Positions at Anchorage Hotel.

  2. For two of the biggest tourist industries in the Caribbean, Antigua and the Bahamas has some of the worse customer service ever, both at the airports and the various hotels, so I’m surprised any hotel in Antigua win any awards at all.

When you go into Jamaica, at the airport and the taxi’s to the hotel staff, these people appreciate you coming in to spend money in their country, unlike some of these airport workers here in Antigua looking at you like ” what is he doing here”. People here at the airport in Antigua don’t even answer questions, and the restaurant workers are horrible, I can’t even begin to tell you some of the experience with some of them.

I live in the States, and many restaurants don’t even want one complain from a patron, it’s bad for business, and America is a place where people eat out like five times a week and almost everyone have money, cars and houses.
Step up Antiguans and Bahamians..no wonder foreigners taking over the place.
