Anthony Armstrong

Anthony Armstrong, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) of Antigua and Barbuda, and his co-accused Shelly-Ann Peart Campbell have been granted an extension of their bail while awaiting trial for a criminal case in Jamaica.

In the Supreme Court appearance, Armstrong and Peart, a Jamaican lawyer, had their bail extended until October 13 to accommodate a new hearing in September.

The charges against them include uttering forged documents, forgery, conspiracy to defraud, and fraudulent conversion.

Armstrong’s charge stems from a guilty verdict of professional misconduct by Jamaica’s General Legal Council. Antigua and Barbuda’s DPP position is currently held by Shannon Jones-Gittens.

    • Stick to the news article and stop deflecting with your “dead cat” narratives @ Smh. Chuptz!

      • Seems like guts without body: the skimpy slant proffered as snippets of news content with no in depth public offering.

    • @ Smh

The same DPP that Cutie and Gaston protecting so much – so much so that they dare not fire him as he will be their protector in shield when the time is right.
They have total control over him. You are obviously trying to use reverse psychology to fool the masses. They cannot fool smart people though, as just as they were DUPED, they then turn around and DUPE the minions, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  1. @Smh:When the UPP brought him to Antigua.Did he have those outstanding charges against him? He was charged last year,2022 in Jamaica.
He should be relieved of that position as DPP in Antigua and Barbuda. How could someone who is tainted be allowed to bring charges against others in that capacity,as DPP? I do hope he comes back.Just to pack up his personal belongings and leave.GOOD RIDDANCE !!

    • @dupes and @Wharf Rat- You missed the news that he is no longer DPP? In this very article the current DPP name was given

  2. Let’s reserve our judgement until the trial is completed and then we will assign blame and determine the solution so that our legal system can get back on track. Every human deserve their day in court and prejudging these humans gets us nowhere.

  3. Former DPP*

Cabinet granted him early retirement according to this same news portal.

  4. According to my sources Anthony Armstrong has taken early retirement.
    Questions:
    1.WHERE IS CUTIE BENJAMIN?
2.When will Antigua and Barbuda get a DP who is not acting?
    3. @On the Sidelines: who is an Executive at a major Financial Institution as well as an expert in Human Relations; who also pontificates on the independence The Executive branch and Judiciary..which may be in the books but hardly happens that way. Time to get off the Sidelines, this is too important.

    • Winston Southwell let me suggest you read “Search on for new Director of Public Prosecutions – as former DPP battles criminal charges”

  5. Good riddance and Ms. Jones-Gittens should be made permanent. These sensitive positions should be reserved for Antiguan citizens.
