The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Creative Industries, is pleased to announce the official schedule of events, along with the logo and theme for this year’s 43rd Anniversary of Independence.
The logo, designed by the Visual Echo team, captures our nation’s unified spirit. The ABFC Commissioners, after extensive collaboration in developing various theme options, ultimately chose and finalized “Antigua and Barbuda: From Community Collaboration to Global Gains”.
The Honourable Daryll S. Matthew, Minister of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries, emphasized the theme’s significance, stating, “Community collaboration is key to overcoming the challenges we face as a nation. We must look out for one another. United efforts will yield extensive benefits and set the stage for Global Gains.”
Ambassador Elizabeth Makhoul, Chair of the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission, highlighted the theme’s importance, remarking, “This year’s emphasis on collaboration signifies our evolution beyond being just a small island state. We can attain global achievements through partnerships with our partners and stakeholders.
Ambassador Makhoul went on to say, “As we mark our 43rd year of political independence, I urge everyone to support and participate in the Independence celebration from October 23rd to November 1st.”

I’m guessing the same persons who came up with the idea to have the food fair outside, also came up with the theme. Cause what in the name of independence is that?
