Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Sees Strong Start to 2025

Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector is off to a strong start in 2025, with hotel occupancy and visitor arrivals surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

Figures from the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association show January occupancy reached 82.6%, up from 80.8% last year and 79.0% in 2019. February followed with 86.3%, slightly below the 2019 figure but higher than 2024.

Visitor arrivals for January and February totalled 68,390—up from 61,996 in 2024 and 59,912 in 2019.

The US remains the top source market, accounting for nearly half of all visitors, followed by the UK and Canada.

Tourism drives 70% of GDP and a third of jobs in the twin-island nation. While the outlook remains positive, industry leaders are monitoring potential economic headwinds in the US that could affect growth.
