The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment, will partner with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) along with other territories throughout the region to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Vaccination Week in the Americas.
Vaccination Week in the Americas will commence on Saturday 23rd and end on Saturday 30th April 2022. The theme for this year is “Are You Fully Vaccinated? #GetAllYourShots.”
Included in the activities planned for this year are messages to be read in churches on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, there will be an opening ceremony, the distribution of leaflets, a march, open day at all public clinics and a virtual educational session regarding immunisations. The week will end with a grand health fair on Nevis Street outside Joe Mike’s Hotel.
The Ministry takes this opportunity to salute all nurses throughout the region but especially those living in Antigua and Barbuda. You place your life on the line for others; you who are solely responsible for primary health care; you are a gift to be treasured. Thank you for your sacrificial service.
