Antigua and Barbuda is set to host its first regional Soca event, the inaugural KariSoca, on August 10. This exciting competition will gather top Soca artists from 12 Caribbean islands for a thrilling musical showdown.
KariSoca aims to highlight the diverse styles of Soca music that have developed across the Caribbean. The event will feature 12 artists, each representing their home country. Empress will proudly represent Antigua and Barbuda, while D Phillip Blackest will showcase talent from the US Virgin Islands.
Christy D will perform for Barbados, and Rae will represent Trinidad and Tobago. Dominica will have two representatives, Mr Gwada and Benji, demonstrating the island’s rich Soca tradition.
Other performers include Lyrikal from Montserrat, Riggy from Grenada, and Eazi from Nevis. The lineup is completed by Imran Nerdy from St. Lucia, TR Shine from Belize, and Ras Kelly from St. Kitts.
