Antigua and Barbuda still keen on CARICOM travel bubble

0

Cabinet Notes: Antigua and Barbuda has been deemed a “high risk” state, nonetheless, by one CARICOM state, requiring Covid-19 negative PCR Tests for citizens and residents of Antigua to enter that state.

Regional airline LIAT was planning to make the most of the CARICOM bubble in order to increase the probability of free movement; the regional airline is more likely to function commercially and viably if the bubble exists. Every effort will be made to re-establish the bubble, therefore.

Several international carriers have had to change their plans to fly to Antigua this month, since their home states have closed borders once again.

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have pushed back their arrival dates since the U.K. closed its borders. Air Canada has also pushed back its travel dates. SunWing is likely to fly soonest, given the relations among its integrated parts.

Many bookings slated for November have been pushed back to December, which shows a much better month for hotels and airlines than November 2020.
