All primary and secondary schools in Antigua and Barbuda are set to benefit from a new School Sports Uniform Initiative, providing free uniforms for sporting disciplines.

The programme, due to launch early next year, is a partnership between the Ministry of Sports and local retailer Cool and Smooth, which has long supported sporting activities across the country.

Uniforms will be designed in school colours with input from principals, replaced every two years, and supported by a 10-year sponsorship deal.

Sports Commissioner Dr Colin Greene announced the initiative on Tuesday during the first School Sports Collaboration Meeting at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.
