Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister assumes Chairmanship of CARICOM

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, the Hon. Gaston Browne, assumed the Chairmanship of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on 1 July 2021.

Prime Minister Browne succeeds Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. the Hon. Keith Rowley, and will serve for the next six months.

The Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minster holds responsibility for Services in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet.

He will chair the virtual Forty-second Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government which begins on Monday, 5 July.

  3. Lord I hope I do not hear that Gaston Browne is the most brilliant and accomplished Prime Minister in the Caribbean if not the world because he has taken over the Chairmanship of CARICOM. Please minions and supporters of the ALP it is a position that is rotated among the leaders of CARICOM. That is all. It is now Antigua and Barbuda’s time.

  5. A lot of criminals and unsavory flavors come into Antigua via CARICOM immigration rules. We all know which countries they come from, so I don’t need to say it here.

    I’m glad that Antigua has the Chairmanship now at least, but I hope PM focuses on reforming CARICOM and stopping the ridiculous open border immigration that CARICOM advocates in the past.

    CARICOM is a part of that 1980’s era goal of socialists to create a ‘one world’ government. It has proven to be a waste of money and time. I hope Antigua withdraws from CARICOM ASAP.
