Barbudan Kendra Beazer Participates in Prestigious Fulbright Program

The U.S. Embassy to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States is pleased to announce the Fulbright Foreign Students Scholarship recipients for this academic year.

Antigua and Barbuda national Kendra Beazer has travelled to Pennsylvania to begin a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy at Lehigh University, funded by the U.S. Government.

Beazer recently held the post of Public Affairs Counselor on the Barbuda Council and also served as the Chairman of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and Coastal Protection. Beazer is a recipient of numerous national awards and scholarships, including the 2017 Antigua and Barbuda National Youth Award; the Coco Point Lodge Hotel Scholarship in 2013; and the Prime Minister’s Scholarship in 2012, which provided funding towards his completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Management – International Business in 2015 from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.

The Fulbright program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

The Fulbright Foreign Student program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions.
