Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association Congratulates Anthea Watkins on Acceptance to JICA Programme

The Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) proudly congratulates Anthea Watkins on her acceptance into the prestigious Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) training programme. ‘Ms. Watkins will participate in the course titled Human Resource Development for Creating Tourism Destination for Sustainable Tourism – Transforming Tourism Destination, which will be held in Japan from August 26 to September 20, 2024.

This training, facilitated by JICA, is a significant milestone for Ms. Watkins and by extension, the ABHTA. As a professional dedicated to the growth and development of Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector, Ms. Watkins is expected to gain invaluable insights and strategies that align with sustainable tourism practices.

Reflecting on her upcoming participation, Ms. Watkins shared, “I am truly honoured to be selected for this transformative opportunity. I look forward to expanding my knowledge and understanding of sustainable tourism development. My goal is to apply these new skills to enhance the strategic initiatives of the ABHTA upon my return, contributing to the long-term growth and success of our tourism industry.”
