An Antiguan and Barbudan citizen received the Governor General’s Faithful & Meritorious Service Cross on Sunday at the Holy Comforter Church in Washington DC.

The Rev. Dr. Donald Henry Kortwright Davis was the recipient of this award for academic excellence and his contribution to the spiritual growth and development the Diaspora, more specifically, the United States of America.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor General, who was accompanied by Lady Williams, had high praise for the work and the example set by Rev Dr. Davis.

Sir Rodney stated that the Office Of The Governor General is seeking to play its part in ensuring that the residents of our fair land, including those living abroad, remain inspired, cohesively linked and committed to making a positive change wherever they find themselves.

Rev. Dr. Davis not only thanked the Governor General for conferring this award on him but he also thanked his family, the church and all those who assisted him to achieve.

Several Antiguans and Barbudans also attended the service.

The other Diaspora awardees are Dr. Carl E James and Canon Rev Lesley Worrel Isaac OBE who were also presented with crosses earlier in the year for their significant contribution to development in Canada and the United Kingdom respectively.

Recipients of the Faithful and Meritorious Cross are allowed to use the post nominal, FMC, after their name.
