Antigua and Barbuda unites in jubilant festivity to honor the unprecedented space odyssey of mother-daughter duo Keisha Schahaff and Anastasia Mayers.

At 9:00 am, as the Caribbean’s first astronauts, they’re set to launch aboard Virgin Galactic’s New Mexico mission.

The nation will wave flags and celebrate at the Antigua Recreation Grounds and Holy Trinity Primary School.

The event features entertainment and a souvenir giveaway.

The historic liftoff to return journey is expected to last around 90 minutes.

Beyond local pride, the occasion aims to inspire youth, with Jamaican-American astronaut Christopher Huey as guest speaker.

The celebration gathers esteemed figures including Richard Branson and Sir Vivian Richards.(Observer)

  1. I will be on my knees praying for their safe return then watch it afterwards. Don’t know the mother but the daughter is my long time friend Tony’s daughter.
Praying for their safe return and thanks in advance for the exposure our country will get from this.

  2. a HISTORIC, MOMENTOUS, INSPIRING occasion indeed!
