(ABDF) On Saturday, 13th September 2025, the Antigua and Barbuda National Cadet Corps (ABNCC) proudly opened its new year with a special ceremony dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements of its cadets.
The ceremony also recognized cadets for their participation in the ABNCC Summer Camp held in Barbuda this past July, where they received certificates in acknowledgement of their dedication, teamwork, and resilience throughout the program.
In addition, three cadets were congratulated for their outstanding success in the recently concluded CSEC examinations. Their academic excellence, coupled with their commitment to cadet service, reflects the well-rounded development that the ABNCC strives to instill in its members.
The occasion further highlighted the successful completion of the Cadet Development Training Course, which brought a wave of promotions across the Corps:
8 cadets promoted from Recruit to Private
1 cadet promoted from Recruit to Lance Corporal
5 cadets promoted from Private to Lance Corporal
3 cadets promoted from Lance Corporal to Corporal
1 cadet promoted from Corporal to Sergeant
1 cadet promoted from Sergeant to Staff Sergeant
1 cadet promoted from Staff Sergeant to Warrant Officer
Special recognition was given to:
Corporal Jeneka Burnes, Corporal Damani Zakers, and Corporal Micah Richards (promoted from Lance Corporal)
Sergeant Douvert Burnes (promoted from Corporal)
Staff Sergeant Daena Bird (promoted from Sergeant)
Warrant Officer Daniel Brown (promoted from Staff Sergeant)
This ceremony stood as a proud reminder of the Corps’ mission: to nurture discipline, leadership, and academic achievement in Antigua and Barbuda’s youth. With renewed energy and purpose, the ABNCC looks forward to another year of service and success. (ABDF)
