Multi-coloured spread of Eastern Caribbean dollar banknotes of varying denominations, St Lucia, West Indies, North America. In addition to Saint Lucia, the Eastern Caribbean dollar is the official currency of five independent states (Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines) and two British overseas territories (Anguilla, Montserrat). Its value has been pegged to the US dollar since 1976.

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda is taking action to clear a backlog in overtime payments for security workers at the Ministry of Works.

The Cabinet allocated funds to reduce the backlog, demonstrating the government’s commitment to workers’ financial well-being and their essential role in security.

Updates on this initiative’s progress will be shared with the public.

  1. Is this something for the government to be proud of?

This country is so broke and broken by Gaston and his corruption, talking about economic power house and fastest growing economy.

  2. “government’s commitment to workers’ financial well-being.” Must be some kind of joke. Solid waste workers/ex-workers are owed millions, civil servants were promised raises and back pay owed, and the list is endless. This government
is such a failure, they will grab unto anything in an attempt to seem relevant.

  3. Do a survey at Public Works and you will learn that St. Philips North has by far, the largest number of employees per constituency and after their hand-picked representative is announced, then it’s the by-election. The government is now trying to appease the workers and their families, hoping to get their votes.

  4. You could be on target here @Rovi. This ALP government only makes promises leading up to elections. Of course, if you’re stupid enough, you believe them, like so many Gastonites and Labourites. Most of those I have encountered have literacy issues.
It’s their playbook. It sure didn’t work in SMS, and we can only hope it doesn’t in SPN.
