They so green they won’t even know what to do when the upcoming clusterfuck hits.
As usual, everything has been rushed.
“Top notch services” way?
Antigua has some of the most rude Airport workers anywhere in the world, period!
Not even the bar tenders at the couple bars there at the airport even try to smile or greet you when you go up to the bar, they act like it’s only white people tip or could afford their over price expensive ass drinks. 😂
As much as Antigua tries, for all these years in the service industry as one of the top tourist destinations in the Caribbean, they just don’t get it..
I wonder why?
Caribbean blacks generally lacks the understanding of being a service industry to millions of traveling customers, and Antigua typically has been one of the worst service oriented amongst the lot, the worse.
Not even their taxi drivers try to even get around all dem pot-holes they have. Lmao.
When the top remains slack, what do you expect from the middle and bottom?
Let’s fix the top all others will fall in line. Elections have consequences.
Long long overdue! Many knew from mornin’ that the Immigration Department hasn’t been fit for purpose for years.
We’ve had Indians disappearing, Haitians gone Missing, and then plane loads of Africans allowed to enter the country without the correct checks and documentation.
Critical thinkers all knew it, but the likes of the Head of the Immigration Department Katrina ‘Nepo Baby’ Yearwood were in constant denial, and her responses when questioned at an enquiry were justcterrible and left Antiguans none the wiser.
THIS RECRUITMENT DRIVE IS NO SURPRISE
Next we going to hear that Police Commissioner Attlee Rodney will be doing a similar recruitment drive.
REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST!
Considering the recent announcements of automated immigration services at the airport in time for SIDS, what need will there be for these politically created positions? The tax payers will have to continue to suffer poor infrastructure and utility services while these politicians look for votes.
Can the country afford this? They are not temporary positions, they are permanent positions. And we have to pay more taxes so these goons can secure votes to remain in office.
Currently there must be 300 Immigration Officers and the police force is seriously underman. Give those 43 workers to the police force so the police can be more visible.
Young people, possibly school leavers, trained in the mechanics of immigration duties in record-speed, however, likely scant people/observational/life skills which are critical in the job.
Or, are they standing next to each electronic entry machine to assist with queries, reboot machine if it gets confused etc?
We’re told 5,000 people for SIDS in a very short timeframe
& plenty for cricket in short stay time-frames.
In addition to regular tourists and travelers.
🤞🤞🤞
How long does it take for someone to be adequately trained to be an immigration officer? 10 days, 90 hours, or 2 work weeks?
Immigration Officers are ghost workers. 5000 people were granted Amnesty. They just slipped through the cracks?
CUTIE”s Office can do all the work the Immigration officers are doing. Between his office, his law firm ànd his aid, absolutely no need for 43 more $3000.00 per month to be a ghost worker. Tax payers will be paying for this cronyism.
With the announcement of the purchase of the automated kiosk I would have thought less interaction with the immigration officers would be needed. I must be missing something here. We are increasing the government payroll rather than decreasing it.
