Antigua and Barbuda Air Travel Sees 5% Surge in Tourist Arrivals

Tourist arrivals by air in Antigua and Barbuda saw a five percent increase in January compared to the same month in 2019.

The United States remained the top source market, with 14,606 passengers, slightly down from 11,722 in 2019. January’s occupancy rates stood at 85.5 percent, a slight drop from the 86.5 percent recorded in the previous record year.

Following the US, the UK contributed 7,955 arrivals, up from 7,681 previously, while Canada ranked third with 4,525 arrivals compared to 5,752 in 2019.

Overall, January 2023 witnessed 31,306 arrivals, marking a rise from 29,669 in January 2019. T

he majority of overnight visitors prefer staying in hotels, which make up 69 percent of the market, with guest houses and homes comprising the rest.
