Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced plans to introduce legislation targeting gang violence among the youth in Antigua and Barbuda, following a rise in youth-related violence, including a recent gang-linked homicide.

In a national address, Browne revealed that the government will implement anti-gang and juvenile curfew laws to curb criminal activities and safeguard minors.
A guns and gang suppression unit has also been established.
The strategy includes counseling, public education, and rehabilitation programs to reduce recidivism.
Additionally, a juvenile detention facility will be built at Crabbs Peninsula, and a cash incentive program has led to the recovery of over 110 illegal firearms in the past two years.

My sentiments exactly 👍🏾
We know who they are? How long do you know who they are ? Why are we not proactive in this country?
Actions like an immediate curfew for all youth should have been implemented immediately, starting today. The juvenile detention center should be open NOW. The government has been working on this for years. Just think of all the wasted tax payer dollars spent on useless projects.
