Road and Drainage Work Advancing in Freemans Village

8

Anthony Smith Jr. says infrastructure improvements in Freemans Village are moving forward, as efforts continue to address long-standing concerns over roads and drainage in the community.

In a brief update, Smith noted that the upgrades were part of commitments made even before he was elected, and said the work remains ongoing.

“Roads and drains were promised even before I was elected, and today we continue making good on that commitment,” he stated.

He added that progress is visible, with continued work aimed at improving living conditions for residents in the area.

“Progress is happening, and the work continues.”

  1. Professional body language suggest that it’s an intimate relationship, 2 feet minimum space for conversation with strangers but 7 inches or body eclipse is saying something else, that young lady fiduciary character to who ever her boyfriend is now questionable.

  2. It’s good to hear that progress is being made, but people in Freemans Village have heard promises before. I really hope this time the work is completed to a high standard so we don’t end up back in the same position after the next heavy rain.

  3. I recall it being said that when road work commenced, certain areas would be given priority—especially those that have been consistently complaining about poor infrastructure and road conditions for years.

Here at Buckley Line (the second left after KFC), we have been pleading for a long time for something as simple as stone to be placed on the road. We are not asking for any major renovation, paving, or large-scale development. All we are asking for is basic attention—just enough material to help fill the large potholes so that we can drive and walk safely.

There have been many instances where residents have had to put plastic on their feet just to walk through the muddy, swamp-like conditions to get in and out of the area. This is not something new—we have been enduring and reporting these conditions for years.

I have even gone out of my own way—twice now—to get a backhoe and source materials just to address the urgency so me and my children can safely access the road to and from home. Everyone in the area benefited from those efforts. But how long can I continue to do this alone? There has been no real assistance, and no one seems willing to help.

Now that election time is approaching, we are seeing roadworks being carried out in many areas. It raises a serious concern for us: what about Berkeley Line? Are we not part of the constituency? Do we not matter? Do our votes not count?

If that is the case, then let it be made clear to us, so we know where we stand when election day comes.

  5. ANR really have some nerves, are you telling me that on this good EASTER SUNDAY you chose to promote a JUDAS, that is so insensitive. I am beginning to question if you really truly love Antigua and Barbuda
