Dear Mr. Burton,
I wish you no ill will, but I am deeply unsurprised by the situation you find yourself in as a young politician with the Labour Party.

You struck me as someone who meant well and wanted better for this country, and would perhaps do things differently than the crop of craven and ravenous ones that we have there now.
But look how quickly they showed you who they really are.
You and the other candidates in the ASW primary agreed to a run-off, only for your party to renege as soon as it suited them. Lawlessness is the hallmark of labour party governance, Mr. Burton.
I mean you no disrespect, but perhaps you are not old enough to remember the lawless days before they were ejected in 2004.
And believe me, I’ve been around long enough to know, this is the tip of the iceberg.
They will bring you closer and closer into their fold, and more and more, they will demand that you compromise on your morals, and that you defend everything that they do.
You, and the voters of the ABLP in ASW were entitled to a run-off sir, because that is what was agreed to.
But the Labour Party refuses to be governed by principles – only expediency. They throw out the rules at the drop of a hat.
One second they say they are doing primaries in fair and democratic way and the next, they have gone back to polling to pick their winners.
They will grind you down sir.
Today you are an aspiring candidate who stands up for abiding by the rules agreed to from the onset.
In 15 years, you will be a political wretch, conspiring with others to sidestep the rules and fight down another aspiring candidate in the same position as you are now.
They will tell you that it is wrong to be disgruntled, that the good of the party must come first, that protesting for what is right is not what’s best for the party at this time.
What they mean is that the law does matter when it is inconvenient for those who have power. Right and wrong are matters of convenience.
If a party refuses to be governed by its own rules for its own proceedings, how then can it be expected to show respect for the law of the land? Labour has a cost Mr. Burton.
And I hope it is one you can bear. Their true creed is never spoken, but you will discover it time and time again.
Party Before Country. Party Before God. Self Above All.
Sincerely, Robert

The writer is absolutely correct.
Regis needs to detach from ABLP before he is corrupted.
@ Run Regis run!
Psalm 119:9
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word (or the words of the elders who have experienced the modus operandi of the ABLP)
Hit the nail on the head except for what I believe drives the young aspiring politicians to Labour Party is what they see as a pathway to wealth and power, and not a true desire to serve or to influence and improve this country. It cannot be that they are unaware of the horrors of the Labour Party; they are too connected, educated, intelligent and informed, not to know. It seems more likely that they do know and understand, and desire a piece of action, and will sell their souls for it.
Regis you are supposed to be a decent young man, please don’t spoil yourself in any form of political polls with people like antigua biggest traitor lamin, who will sell his soul and run skull Duggar, take kicks in his rear end, to get political mileage. Regis you came from a good family, Don’t spoil that now you have the respect of the people. Concern about good careers.
Reading the comments, I find it laughable that people who don’t support the Labour Party are of the view that their partisan or subjective sentiments would sway anyone who is grounded in the institution of our party.
As you already know, Regis Burton was born in Labour and is not interested in being a member of another party.
This party more than 75 years in existence. So, why is it that when young people offer themselves up to serve in the Labour Party, they are being viewed as only doing so for personal gain?
On the contrary, when others offer themselves up to be a candidate in the opposition party, they are considered as being patriotic. How foolish?
Have you considered that young people are attracted to where they see progress and development are possible?
Everything will be sorted out in due course as it relates to ASW.
Worry about your leadership race in your parry at this time.
ABLP solidarity forever; for the union makes us strong.
Some people really don’t have any shame. Dave aka convinced woman beater Ray telling people to study their leadership race, when he right up commenting on the UPP leadership race. Wife beater tell us what position in the NY office Gaston Top Dawg Browne promised you, that you never received. I heard the $1,500 US per month they offered you, you said was an insult and it was not enough to pay back the young lady in Mount Vermont, why you want to see the back of Max and Gaston. You should be the last person on any media commenting. I understand why you are a Labourite. You have no SHAME!
You feel good now? You got it off your chest? Hooray, YAYYY
You have no dam SHAME.
It’s sad ALL these educated young men see labor as a quik way to get rich
ALL the NEPO babies who feel highly entitled especially the one fu pussie salad
Dem see Gaston only hiring educated candidates now them all applying even when NOBODY want them even when them NOT the front runners dem till ah push up dem head bcos I WENT TO COLLEGE IN FARRIN AND I KNOW PPL
If they so wanted to make a difference in young ppl lives WHY NOT START A MENTORING PROGRAM ?????
OH THATS RIGHT THERES NO MONEY THERE.!!!!!
Go to Layba party that’s how you get rich and empower thy self
Give me a break all these acolyte are wolves in sheep clothing waiting with baited breath to get their hands in the treasury and deal striking around the world selling antigua’s sovereignty. No man going to that party is different.
