The American University of Antigua (AUA) will conduct several of its courses using the virtual classroom, Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst reported today in Cabinet notes.

He said this is since many students are unable to travel at this time.

The Cabinet estimates, “the impact on the Antigua and Barbuda economy will be palpable, since AUA contributes approximately 5% of GDP annually.”

Meantime it is reported that casinos are to remain closed until such time as the protocols are submitted, reviewed and accepted.

“Because of the high number of machines that requires touch, casinos are more likely to be a place where the virus can be spread. More consultations are to take place.”
