Sports Minister Commends Alzari Joseph’s Million-Dollar Net Worth, Advocates for Cricket Development
Sports Minister Daryll Matthew has commended the extraordinary financial success of West Indies cricketer Alzari Joseph, whose net worth has soared to an impressive $10 million at the age of 27.
Minister Matthew, speaking with permission from Joseph, highlighted the substantial economic potential within the realm of cricket and the lucrative opportunities available to top-tier players.
“This is a clear demonstration that cricket has the ability to generate tremendous income and excellent livelihoods for those who are good enough to get to that level,” emphasized Minister Matthew.
Alzari Joseph’s remarkable financial standing includes not only his $10 million net worth but also an additional $1.3 million earned from his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and various international leagues.
Minister Matthew underscored the significance of recognizing and celebrating the financial success of cricket stars like Joseph, positioning them as inspiring examples for aspiring cricketers.
The Sports Minister urged the government to capitalize on Joseph’s success by providing unwavering support, top-notch facilities, and comprehensive programs to nurture the talents of young cricketers across the nation.
He emphasized the need to showcase success stories like Joseph’s to motivate the next generation and ensure they have the necessary resources to excel in the sport.
While celebrating Joseph’s financial achievements, Minister Matthew also paid homage to past West Indies cricket legends, acknowledging their role as trailblazers who set the stage for the unprecedented financial opportunities available in contemporary cricket.
With the recent introduction of a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise in Antigua and Barbuda, Minister Matthew expressed optimism about the expanded opportunities for local players.
The CPL franchise not only enriches the nation’s cricketing landscape but also provides a platform for emerging talents to showcase their skills on a global stage.
Minister Matthew affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting cricket development, pledging continued financial investment, exposure opportunities, and infrastructure development.

It is such a remarkable difference to the days when Sir Viv, Sir Ritchie and Sir Curtley all played at the highest levels. They played at the highest level too and left cricket far poorer than today’s band of cricketers. The CPL, the Indian Cricket League and others have provided a solid breeding ground for modern cricketers to excell and do well financially. It is a pity that his mom is not around to see and savor his success. She would be prouder than a peacock of how her humble son has excelled. Well done lad! We are all proud of your success.
Next step in your burgeoning career Alzari, will be captaining the West Indies cricket team to success.
Cricket still behind with their pay. US pay multi millions.
I concur that there is an abundance of talents embedded in our small domain: if only we are willing to avail ourselves with the fortitude and discipline to achieve set goals. Well done “Zari” you went on out and now bringing home the bacon. Viv, and many others did it too. Big-up! Congrats! Brother Love.
I am so proud. I wish ministers of government would say to people like him and myself, let us facilitate you so that you can help others locally. Instead of saying they cannot help us, when we are not looking for money but basic and pre-existing duty of having applications decided in a reasonable time and on the merit.
I also would love to form a millionaire club in Antigua, for those with no less than $10 million usd. It would be a club to begin making a difference in Antigua and Barbuda.
We can truly help Antigua and Batbuda but it needs people who truly want to help and a government who helps.
that’s a lot of money he’s lucky to have such a nest egg at 27 don’t recall him doing anything special on the cricket field. What games or series has he won?
Red eye!!

Daryll Matthew, how much were you worth before political office and now in political office? I am so happy none of you know my financial worth.Joseph should not have given you the okay to air his financials. That is a personal matter.Unlike you and your cohorts being paid by the PEOPLE.We have a right to know. How much all of you Politicians are being paid or overpaid. For it is our damn money that pay you all monthly.
@My way of helping:You want to start a millionaire’s club in Antigua.Count me into that club.
@Tuna
All folks with cash of $10 million usd or more and intent to genuinely help Antigua and Barbuda may join, you are welcome to be a part of this club.
A. Joseph is poor and clean so he doesn’t have a problem with his financials being published. Only rich people with shady dealings push the narrative that a person’s financials should be hidden. The funny thing is that when poor people join in to say they are not letting anyone know of the $12,000 they have in an account lol. If financials of persons were made transparent a lot of people would have to run away.
The Cricketing World can thank RA Stanford for his innovations, and support for Cricket in the Caribbean.

Net worth = Investment in intangible assets such as bitcoin or the purchase and ownership of tangible high-end property/art/jewelry/furniture/clothing/sports memorabilia/comic books or one or more rare luxury automobile that appreciates in value as time passes.
Examples are Sean Carter, aka Jay-Z, current networth USD $2 billion, former co-owner of Rocawear clothing line which was sold for USD $204 million, John DeLorean networth USD $50 million, at time of his death USD $500,000. Redd Foxx’s net worth at his peak USD $4 million, at the time of his death bankrupt (penniless). It is not what you have, it is what you do with what you have.
