I think all exit ports of the country should have been closed down while the police hunt for the killer(s). The attitude seemed to have been: well, the police will investigate.
That kind of attitude by the authorities is not good enough. Security of the citizens and residents of Antigua and Barbuda needs a drastic overhaul. It is a fact that there is no public security system in place in Antigua and Barbuda: There are no security cameras placed at strategic locations that are connected to a police surveillance system and crime lab. It’s either that the authorities don’t think that such a system is necessary; they don’t think that the country can afford to budget for it; or, they just don’t care a damn.
But, which Ministries of Government would be responsible for installing the security system? I can name two:
1. The Ministry of Public Safety would be directly responsible.
2. But, even if they made the request, their hands are tied until they are being given the green light by the Ministry of Finance.
3. The whole Government would be collectively responsible for the security and safety of citizens and other residents.
My son works at night and has to be on the road all kinds of hours after midnight. Every afternoon he leaves home I make sure I see him off and say a silent prayer that he will return to me safely. I think our Government must stop taking the safety of citizens and residents for granted, and do better.
I hope this will be the last time I have to write an article like this one. So, I hope the relevant authorities will get their act together immediately.

What a stupid letter. Close down the entry/exit ports when we don’t even know who we are looking for? So, how long should the ports be closed down? Until a killer is identified? What if that takes a long time? Do we keep visitors out and locals in the country until the killer is found? This letter does not make sense.
It is the opinion of the writer. That is his/her choice. We have all our opinions. When foolish mankind begin to call another foolish, stupid…then woe be unto us. We are all on this same sinking ship called “Earth”. What affects one certainly have consequences for all in one way or another. The idea is not to decry another for his/her opinion, but rather to become part of the solution of the HORRIBLE state of affairs we are experiencing here and the world over.
How smart are we as fools to call another a fool? Pretty dumb indeed it is.
The truth is these cruel and evil crimes against mankind will continue and get even worse as we race towards the end of this sinful age. The heart of man is just desperately evil and demonic. We have sold out to the enemy of the human race. Sadly though, the majority are happy to be in cohesion with an enemy whose primary goal is to destroy all of humanity.
We have obviously lost our way and seems not to care about the destructive path on which we travel. The violence we witness has a root cause. Unfortunately, that cause has been completely ignored by the majority of humanity. Instead, we make miserable attempts to remedy the consequences.
The sad truth is that we are all fools. We have rejected the ONLY way that would prevent all this suffering, pain, crimes, sickness, disasters and instead adopted the way that brings all of these ills.
Now that is not my opinion. THAT IS PURE NAKED TRUTH.
Which of us can deny that?
I say again: we are destroyed not for lack of knowledge, but because we have rejected that knowledge.
The knowledge of the purpose of our being: who we are, why are we here, and so on.
We look into the mirror, see all the dirty flaws (knowing full well how we got them) and then we walk away from the mirror and continue doing the same things that brought on the dirty flaws in the first place.
Now that is foolish!
Mankind will continue to suffer, and it is going to get worse. In fact, we ain’t seen anything yet.
I emphasise here that God will NEVER force HIS will on us. He is not in the business of creating robots. He wants humanity to come to fully understand that ONLY HIS WAY works for our good. The other way only brings pain and destruction. We have seen the results of this other way.
If we are wise, we would turn from the evil way and seek the good way. Only then can we be redeemed as being wise and not fools. Until then we are all but fools.

@Roy,Did you read before you post? You seem to have pertinent information related to the investigation. Who are we looking for? Are we going to close the ports and do what? Search every citizen and visitor? Is there a description of who or what we are looking for. Do you have pictures,security footage, etc? Please come back and tell us. You need to go wash some clothes if pipe on.
How does that make sense? Even if they don’t know who they are looking for how are they going to identify a killer? Questionnaire, swab everyone for blood? Are we not tired of lockdowns?
First of all, who are the victims?
It seems as, one person already stated that Roy only wanted to criticise the government why this so-called article was written, as there has not been much said with regards to the murders.
Second, did you ever stop to think that the government might be hesitant about putting up cameras bcos of the backlash that it might get? Cameras, although they are for security can be seen as an invasion of people’s privacy.
Antigua is a place with about 85 to 90,000 people and the writer of this article is saying to close all exit ports. Let me ask the writer of the article a couple of questions.
So you want all exit port to close?
What happens to persons who are going away on business, do we hold them hostage too until a killer is found?
What about those persons who want to travel for medical reasons, do we hold them hostage too?
It’s the first time in my lifetime I have heard anyone suggesting to close port of entry until a murderer is found.
5 Haitians escape Immigration custody in Antigua, and we still can’t find them, and the writer of this article is suggesting that the government should close all exit ports until the murderer is found.
A couple weeks ago a guy was shot down in Cassada Gardens, how come the writer of this article didn’t call for the exit ports to shut down until the murderer is found,

People tragically die by being murdered all over the world, and I do not hear the writer of this article calling for the U.S.A , Canada or the U.K to close their port of exit when a NIGGA get murdered in those places.
This is not even the first murder in Antigua for the year, and I never saw any article from the writer showing sympathy or sending sympathy to the families of any murder victims in Antigua, but all of a sudden, a double murder has been committed and as tragic and as sad as it is one of the victims of that murder happens to be white, and the writer of the article want the government to hold the whole country hostage by suggesting to close all exit ports, nobody leaves until a murderer has been found among 80 to 90,000 people. And I’m sure the police don’t even know who the HELL they are looking for.

I am a National of Antigua and Barbuda. I was born on the Island of Antigua.All of my years while living on Antigua. I have never seen and or heard of the violence going on there back then,as now. What are the issues for such violence? Where are all of those guns coming from into Antigua. Are they coming into by the Seaports. I did read some weeks back. A container at the Deep Water Harbor was broken into and three barrels were removed. What were inside of those barrels? Where are they with that Investigation? Things happening in Antigua that are very shocking. Too many murders, home invasions, larcenies. We need to help each other 24/7.Organize neighborhood groups to do watches 24/7.Perhaps it would help to deter crimes.Good luck Antigua,see you very soon.
Which country in the world shut down all its exit points during a murder investigation? As a news agency, what assurance can you give the authorities, that the killer or killers have passport to exit the country?
You may not like the operations of the authorities and government, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t read and make sense of your articles before punishing each one of them.
How long should they keep you, me and the general public from traveling, because all exits are closed because of a manhunt?
When all exits are closed, it means no one leaves the country for weeks, months, years until the perpetrators are caught. Where’s the wisdom in that sort of thinking?
