Air Peace to operate second special flight to Antigua & Barbuda

In a social media post, Air Peace said: “In August 2023, we made history as the first Nigerian airline to fly direct to the Caribbean.

Now, we’re set for another special flight to Antigua and Barbuda on October 30, 2023. A five-day business trip to explore the business and tourism sides of the twin-island nation.

Air Peace, which is the largest airline in Nigeria and West Africa, is hoping to operate a regular service between Nigeria and Antigua and Barbuda.

Air Peace currently operates a fleet of over 30 aircraft that flies to destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Antiguan government officials are courting Air Peace to join their efforts to revive regional airline LIAT.

Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne is hoping for Air Peace to become the majority shareholder in the reformed LIAT 2020.

In an interview with the Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Service in May, Browne said the proposed partnership would see the airline operate under the LIAT brand with financing from Air Peace and regional shareholder governments.

Browne said a proposed agreement would see Air Peace emerge as a 70 per cent shareholder of LIAT.
