8

Allen Onyema, CEO of Nigeria’s Air Peace, lauded Prime Minister Gaston Browne for his resolute efforts in ensuring the success of the airline’s inaugural flight to Antigua.

Acknowledging PM Browne’s dedication and envisioning a prosperous partnership, Onyema expressed optimism in Africa’s potential as a future hotspot.

He applauded Browne’s commitment to national growth and pledged support for Antigua and Barbuda’s sports sector.

PM Browne embraced the collaboration and urged local talent to expand horizons.

Despite challenges faced by Antigua Airways, the government remains committed to establishing an air bridge between Africa and the Caribbean.

A celebratory reception marked the milestone at Hodges Bay Resort and Spa.

  1. I have come to understand why throughout the Caribbean with few exceptions; even life and death issues is: “a nine days news.”

What is it about everyone being “Resolute”? It seems like a term that is applied to ongoing failures.

BPM has been “Resolute” for how long? … 70 years? and Trevor is still standing infront of Martello Tower, and not even a bathroom at the ferry Dock
Gaston and Onyema are “Resolute” of an African Airlink dispite of the drowning of 16 Camaroonians. Other than being aspirational; this makes no economic sence.

The Camaroonian people were not on a suicide mission. They were given fause promises.
They did not commit suicide. Who is being held responsible for their deaths?

It would be interesting for these two men rather having a celebratory event; tell the Antigua and Barbuda people who is footing the bill to cover the cost of this farce. If Mr. Onyema is carrying the cost; what does he get in exchnge? These are questions that the media should be asking.

This rings like the Angela Basset photo ops, meetings with dignitaries, only for Antigua and Barbuda to end up with egg on its face; and the local media snores.

    • @Liberta Man I am trying to follow your chain of thoughts but I don’t think you have been able to build a strong case. I will agree with you that the previous attempt to build a bridge to Africa ended up as a failure. But, I still believe building that bridge is a good idea.

Yes, 16 Camaroonians lost their lives and our sympathies goes out to their loved ones. However, the sad news is that even when you erecting a physical building, some lives are lost – 5 persons lost their lives while building the Empire State building. So, do you think we should building because of that?

Also, for many of the Africans, it is a do or die situation. By early April this year, over 400 north Africans drowned trying to cross in Europe and each year thousands drown doing the same thing and yet, they continue to cross becuase some are successful.

You questioned the economic benefits of building an African bridge and to that I would ask, what is the population of Nigeria and African on a whole and compare it to the population of the USA and North Ameria. Nigeria poluation is over 213 Million and Africa population is over 1.2 billions. On the other hand, USA population is over 331 Million and North America (USA, Canada, Mexio, Caribbean) population is about 580 Millions. How many flights do we have between Antigua and the rest of North America? Now based on the population of Africa, if we could attract 0.001 percent of that population as real tourist to use that African Bridge, then we would increase our visitor arrival by 1.2 Million. You can then calculate the economic benefits.

In life, when you fall, down stay down.
      Your fellow villager.

  2. This writer uses the same catch frases over and over again, I guess hoping that if he says them long enough, people would believe the bullshit/propaganda.

So no mention of the 12 passengers that were held by immigrations because they had no documents to enter Antigua much less to leave Nigeria in the first place..smh.

12 is an alarming number for a flight with only a 150 or so people. We can only imagine how many undocumented passengers were on those previous flights.

Stop the crap writer, there was nothing to celebrate here, not a damn thing. All this was a damn scheme by GB and his corrupt Nigerian counter parts.

But don’t worry, someone will go down for all this damn corruption going on with this Administration, mark my word.

  3. Question, is the Nigerian Air Peace collaboration a one-way ticket?

    Can/will/would/could Antiguans travel as well?

Another question, as we know Gaston Browne love to dance abroad on a regularly basis, but why hasn’t he shown the same ENTHUSIASM to travel to Nigeria? 🇳🇬

If this financial enterprise is as great as he says, why hasn’t the Prime Minister, or even Charles ‘Max’ Fernández gone out there to promote; advertise; or market this so-called fantastic venture.

Am I missing something here? Or are Antiguans being played again?

    #can’twefindabetterleaderforourcountry?

    • TENDER YOUR RESIGNATION IMMEDIATELY PRIME MINISTER BROWNE, 🥸 YOUR PREMIERSHIP IS NOW UNTENABLE.
