Air Canada confirms suspension of flights to Antigua in letter to officials

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Destination Suspension

Dear team at Antigua Tourist Board;

Above all else, I hope that this letter finds you well and safe.

The Travel Industry has once again been faced with unforeseeable circumstances and further
exasperating this; the Canadian Federal government has reinstated its advisory against nonessential international travel for Canadians.

It was anticipated that we would try to keep as much flying as possible, however the number of cancellations are reminiscent to early Pandemic announcements and this is simply not sustainable.

With this said, Air Canada/Air Canada Vacations have made the decision to cease flying to Antigua with the last northbound scheduled for Jan 30, 2022.

We will be working to try to bring back existing passengers in a timely manner and trust that we will have your cooperation in all that this entails. Please note that we are cancelling files in order of departure dates.

Given the high volume of bookings, we are working as quickly as possible to
cancel the files and appreciate your patience.

We understand that this information is not ideal however we must take these necessary actions to ensure that we come back even stronger when circumstances allow.

We know that we have said this before but never more than now do we want to reiterate that we DO believe that our industry continues to be resilient and, together with your continued support, Air Canada Vacations will once again overcome this challenge.

Thank you for your understanding during these very difficult times which are affecting the entire travel industry.

  3. Waiting for DOT . Brain Ok I’m waiting for ANR biggest DUNCE with . as his name to come on this platform and say the only thing that can come out of his mouth which is ” the opposition must be happy to hear this”

  4. What is really going on here? These announcements are contradicting each other. One says flying suspended, the other (yesterday) says that’s old news from a year ago. Which one is TRUE????? Who is to be believed.
