Congratulations, cheers, and applause rang out at the CIBC FirstCaribbean High Street branch recently as management and staff gathered to honour one of their own who was celebrating 30 years of service to the financial institution.

Ms. Agnetta Daniel, the honoree, said she was overwhelmed by the love shown by the staff.

She had joined the then staff of Barclays Bank on 22nd June 1987 as the Manager’s Secretary. She continued her employment when Barclays and CIBC merged in 2002 to create FirstCaribbean International Bank, which later changed its name to CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.

Over the years, she has worked in practically every department of the bank’s operations division and now serves as the bank’s Branch Ambassador.

She says her work experience at the bank and the interaction with staff and customers have helped to mould her personality and develop her skills.

“I have learned a lot and I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy working here. It is so rewarding,” she said.

Ms. Daniel is also very involved in the bank’s community activities and served for many years on the judging panel of the bank’s Unsung Heroes programme. She also participates in the Adopt a Cause staff initiative and the annual Walk for a Cure.

Branch Manager, Mrs. Dawn Soleyn, noted that Ms. Daniel has consistently been outstanding in her professionalism and team work and her customer service skills are excellent.
