A mother is warning other parents to be careful about allowing their children to walk to and from school, after her teenage daughter was almost abducted last week.

Reports say the woman reported to the Police that two men had attempted to abduct her 13-year-old daughter, sometime between 3:30 and 4 p.m., on June 16, while the teen and her friends were walking on Bishopgate Street.

The woman says the girl was walking from east to west in the vicinity of a well-known taxi driver’s residence, when a white Toyota Corolla pulled up alongside her and stopped.

Allegations are that an “old” man exited the car and grabbed the child by her clothing. He attempted to pull her into the vehicle, but she resisted, screamed, and managed to pull away from her would-be abductor, and ran back to some of her friends who were nearby.

Reports are that the man was wearing a white cap and is said to be of a dark complexion.

The Bathlodge mother is circulating a warning message and advising parents, as far as possible, to transport their children to and from school.

She says that Antigua and Barbuda has changed, and these are not the days when parents could allow their children to walk alone without fear of them being kidnapped.

According to her, the country is no longer safe for young girls on account of the “animals” who are preying on them.

The woman says she plans on equipping her daughter with protection, including pepper spray, a pocket knife and a taser, since,, in Antigua, victims of crimes “hardly get any justice.”

“…Two years in prison while your child is left with scars and fear,” the mother says.

The Police are reportedly investigating the alleged abduction attempt. REAL NEWS

  1. PARENT, I DON’T EQUIPPING YOUR CHILD WITH PEPPER SPRAY, POCKET KNIFE AND TASER IS THE WAY TO GO SINCE THESE ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOW IN SCHOOLS…AND CAN BE USED AGAINST OTHER STUDENTS. BUT I UNDERSTAND YOUR SITUATION.

    • U clearly don’t understand even if these monsters get convict the get a sleep and wake time in jail the parents have to do whatever they can the law definitely not doin enough for these kids

  2. Teach her self defense. A whistle helps and she has a voice….SCREAM and make others around her know what’s happening. If she can see…..take a license plate number as well.

She’s a smart girl and tell her to tell her story to others so they too can be on guard.

I am so proud of her!!

  3. This is hard to swallow as a mother myself I’m so frustrated of what our children has to face it is unfair for them, not allowing them to live n enjoy their youths in peace why these Grey back boys clad in men apparels don’t buy a watermelon n leave our innocent children….they are posed with demons when they joined these cult group n sell their souls they have to carry out their ritual so they prey on the innocent invulnerable this battle in not physically its spiritual and the leaders will not call for a day or a week of prayer n fasting for the nation n our children become they themselves are involved in cult. God says if my people who are called by my name humble themselves seek his face n pray He God will hear from heaven and heal the land, our land need healing.
We need to come 2gether n seek God for our nation n our children and for all the predators to be exposed.
Our children need to live n walk in peace. It’s our duty as adults to protect n not to hurt them

  4. She’s 13 now .
3 years later a adult male in his 50s can legally have sex with her according to Antigua laws.
16 is still a child and it’s legalized.
Raising the age consent will not stop sick minds but to do nothing and complain well……
