ABLP Barbuda candidate wants to transform Barbuda into an economic powerhouse

Senator Nedd

Knacyntar Nedd-Charles:

“It is a most phenomenal feeling to know that you sir, have the confidence that a young woman from Barbuda has the capabilities to help transform Barbuda into an economic powerhouse.

I have no doubts that Barbuda is about to enter into a new season, a season that will bring about positive change to our Island and People, a much needed change that will see that ALL Barbudans come first, and not just a selective few.

With Gods grace, his guidance and with the support of my Barbudan people, I am humbled to be chosen for this amazing assignment”

  1. This lady is a political … (in my eyes anyway).

A friend told me that she was chosen as the Barbuda candidate and the executive of the Barbuda Labour Party Branch WAS NOT CONSULTED.

As a matter of fact, a meeting was schedule for Saturday 26th March 2022 at 5pm and the reason for the meeting was to choose who they wanted to represent them in the upcoming general elections.

I am told that the branch executive do not want her as she does not enjoy the confidence of the majority of executive members.

My friend told me that the lady knew of the meeting, however, the party announced as its candidate before the meeting on Barbuda (lol – what a joke).

U.P.P. and the A.B.L.P. are identical twins.

God have Mercy on this Country.

    • You have your little gossip/rumour mixed up. Your “friend” is referring to Chaniel Imhoff who was BADPLAYED by UPP for Peter Redz and Kyron Simon suffered the same fate for Gladys “icecream scooping” Potter. Let’s not forget the ultimate BADPLAY of them all – Joanne Massiah followed by Richard “bully beef” Lewis.

“Bro. Harold Lovell told me he was done with elective politics and ASK ME IF I WOULD LEAD THE UPP. In a subsequent conversation, he even suggested who I could consult as my deputy. I was deeply honored by Bro. Harold’s request especially since I deemed it was made after sober meditation on his part. I wrote the sixteen (16) Constituency Branches of the UPP, officially informing them of my bid for the Political Leader position. To my SURPRISE, Bro. Harold changed his mind and decided to run, but didn’t see it fit to EVEN INFORM ME. After praying about it, and talking to my family and the support base that I had already built, I decided to forge ahead as I strongly believe that the UPP NEEDS RENEWAL!!!!!”

  2. Our PM said ” Let there be light” and clearly light is on it’s way. Barbuda is sure on it’s way of becoming an arm under the Antigua & Barbuda Economic Powerhouse House. Kudos to the Gaston Browne administration……

  3. ECONOMIC POWERHOUSE !! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT? ANTIGUA IS ALREADY AN ECONOMIC SO CALLED POWERHOUSE,ASK YOUR LEADER,GASTONIE BROWNIE.BARBUDA IS GOING TO BE LIKE AN APATHIED ISLAND.WHERE ONLY THOSE WHO DO MEANIAL WORKS COULD GO INTO DESIGNATED AREAS OF THEIR BIRTHPLACE,BARBUDA. SO WHEEL AND COME AGAIN.STOP DRINKING THAT JIM JONES’ RED KOOL AID AND INSTEAD DRINK SOME ENGLISH HARBOR RUM.IT WOULD SURELY CLEANSE YOUR THOUGHT PROCESSES WHAT IS LEFT OF IT.

    • Annie, why are always such a Negative Nancy? Give the young lady a chance. She would be a tremendous improvement over what they now have. Annie! Annie! Annie! You are really “off” these days. Are you okay “my dear lady”? Don’t be so hardened. Enjoy life. It goes so quickly.

  4. Why would any ALP politician even mention the term “economic powerhouse” coined by Gaston Browne when it has become a local term of ridicule?

  5. PLH the economic powerhouse. Now is there a national development plan? I am sure we do not have one. That is why we make stupid decision and statements over and over. The government announced the hiring of workers into the already bloated public sector.
They never conducted a Human Resources audit. So they have people in public sector not doing a thing, not even if they wanted to.
Secondly the government is struggling to pay its wage bill on a monthly basis. We are not even out of this pandemic and the increase in fuel and by extension goods and services.
Then the government has a host of local contractors who they hire both equipment and services and owe them for years. See them in this miser era waiting at the treasury for day, weeks and don’t get a red cent. Talking about the black Antiguans.
Then there is competition from the government ministers in business. The PM in everything and the others following quickly. They are for sure getting their money. Don’t have to wait, just go up stairs to accountant general or acting and collect their big fat checks. Hey not even child support paid into the government can be collected in a timely manner.
We borrowing from PLH and the investor with the helicopter business and then sign work permits for expats in return. Our Antiguans Sons and daughters are studying and returning home to work and live as second class citizens to these whites. This is what our black politicians do to our people. Time to create an economy that support the masses and not an economic powerhouse for the politicians and their rich friends.

  6. Give Walker hell honey, time to send the relic to the junk yard. The days of rewarding that demagogue are at and end

    • TENMAN I would prefer to hear you talk of the ALP relics and dinasours in Antigua such as Robin and Molwyn.

      • Guy focus on the “spent force” you have as a leader. Man can’t even win his seat or provide a compass/course for his own party. This is why the public perception of the UPP is of a lost cause. What you ignorantly label as dinosaurs, help to moor the party. Let me remind you that Trevor Walker (staying on topic) has admitted his fault in the problems in Barbuda:
““Barbuda’s Representative Chides Residents for Dependency: (May 29, 2010, Antigua Daily Observer)
“Member of Parliament (MP) for Barbuda Trevor Walker yesterday lashed out at Barbudans for their dependence on the Barbuda Council.
Walker accused Barbudans of not doing enough for the sister-island while relying too heavily on subsidies from the central government in Antigua.
“It’s so amazing to me that 1,500 people cannot get together to try and organise themselves in a way that they can help themselves, and I take blame for that too,” he said. “All that we do is to go to this broke Barbuda Council that has no money, borrow everything that we want, and the same Barbuda Council depends on the central government every week every month for transfers. It’s just not sustainable.”
“At the end of the day, we cannot have it both ways. We cannot want to live the Antigua life and want to have the Barbuda lifestyle”

        • @ Tenman: As someone, you, who knows what Gaston eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Could you please tell me and only me.What he did with the US$ Millions borrowed from PLH on Barbuda? Could you point to anything done with that money in the Nation. What were the terms of that Loan? When is he going to Parliament and let the people know.Is he hoping to exchanged Barbuda’s lands to PLH for that Loan?

  7. For 10 years Trevor Walker was a CABINET MEMBER in the “sunshine government” and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR BARBUDA!!!!!!!

All he did was to CUSS THEM and call them all manner of evil (RUM DRINKERS, LAZY, BADMIND, etc)

Trevor Walker does NOT care about the constituency of Barbuda.

Antiguan Finance Minister HAROLD LOVELL says the IMF has agreed to a $124 million loan over three years.”

BRAZIL, CHILE, MAYLAYSIA, MEXICO,SERBIA, MACEDONIA, MONTENEGRO, POLAND, BOTSWANA, COSTA RICA, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, SEYCHELLES, TONGA AND MAURITIUS.

      Hmmmm

      EAT YOUR WORDS!
UNDER THE UPP ADMINISTRATION ,ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA WAS POISED TO BECOME RICH

  12. You know it is sad when the UPP followers do not have a vision to follow. This is what you call a vision statement. Even companies seek to gather their employees to rally behind a vision statement for the company. No wonder when a reporter asked Baldwin what his vision for the country was? He had none. And as the saying goes, “without a vision the people perish. And here we see the same thing again. Walker and the BPM have no vision for Barbuda. However, this you ABLP hopeful rallies behind the vision of Gaston Browne for the entire country and says she wants to make Barbuda an Economic Powerhouse, and those brainless and visionless UPPiet have nothing better to do than to laugh. Well! Let them laugh. We have a vision that we are striving for. And our mission is to work hard every day to achieve that goal. And Barbuda may reach that goal before Antigua.

    • Sidelines: You had better keep your fat arse out of Barbuda. You have always had a deep hatred for the people living on Barbuda,BARBUDANS.

  13. “ST JOHN’S, Antigua (CMC) – The Antigua and Barbuda government says it does not consider the island’s fiscal situation to be unsustainable as it responded to an International Monetary Fund (IMF) report that it is CONCERNED that the MACROECONOMIC PERFORMANCE of Antigua and Barbuda has DETERIORATED in recent times.”

The IMF said the deterioration in the macroeconomic performance had been observed in the months following the conclusion of the three-year-old Stand-By Arrangement, WEAKENING the growth outlook and EXACERBATING downside risks.

  14. BARBUDA, An economic Powerhouse? Oh boy! OK, We all know this is political nonsense so I guess instead on focusing on her and this article, we all over the place disparaging the other side. One idiot says FOCUS while she is the most UNFOCUSED. Let’s try again. Barbuda, an Economic Powerhouse and Redonda will host the next Olympics. #STUPIDTALK
