Twenty-four local referees and eight newcomers who recently concluded local referee certification had the chance to enhance their skills during the June 21-25, 2023 FIFA RAP Course hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA).

The theoretical aspects of the course were held at the John E St. Luce Financial Building on Factory Road, St. John’s, Antigua while the group took to the Astroturf at Paynter’s for the practical.

ABFA Referee Coordinator Kelesha Antoine said the initiative placed the referees in good stead.

“The course went well,” Antoine said.

“All the participants were engaged, and the instructors were pleased with the level of participation of the young ones.

The course served its purpose of preparing the referees for the Women’s League and the season ahead.

They understand the interpretation of the laws of the game and how to apply them.”
