The staff of Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) joins a number of local efforts dedicated to bringing relief to the people of St. Vincent, in light of its ongoing volcanic disaster.
Twenty cases of water were donated the Electoral Office of St. Vincent, after making contact with its Chief Elections Officer, Ms. Dora James.
The effort is being coordinated with assistance from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS).
“We are very happy to assist our colleagues during this critical time in St. Vincent. We are aware that clean drinking water is an absolute necessity at this moment in time and we did not hesitate to mobilize our resources with this gesture of goodwill”, explained Dame Lorna Simon, ABEC’s Supervisor of Elections.
The cases are expected to leave Antigua for St. Vincent along with other supplies and donations through NODS on Monday.
