The fact that he could not pass the industrial and technical subjects tells me a lot of how we are educating our children, esp our boys, today.
All this SBA bull sh–t is a form of cheating, and most of the kids are not getting their passes the right way. They know that it is CHEATING.
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT THE PARENTS, HIRED HELP, etc are doing these SBAs, and they carry a lot of marks. Students are passing subjects that they know very little about.
Do I need to talk about the passes in the thrashy subjects like Physical Education, where some of the testers do not even know the terminology pertaining to the sport they are judged on?
DO YOU SEE WHY THERE IS SO MUCH ANGER OUT THERE?
CSEC, YOU SUCK!!!! It’s all about the money.
Look at what is happening with the Maths. Do you think that just started this year?
Congrats to the young man. Some people are better at theory. Some are better at hands on work. We need both types of boys and girls. It is unrealistic to expect each person to be an expert at everything. A few people are reasonably good at several things. But, there is still not enough hours in the day to do it all by oneself. Those students who pass a lot of subjects with I’s at CSEC make a lot of sacrifices time, fun etc. to do so. Most people would not and should not try to do similarly. At the end of the day, everyone will still have to narrow down their subjects at the higher levels where quality of work is more important than quantity of subjects. That’s why teamwork is so important for businesses and society to succeed. Everyone must play their part. The Caribbean has a great education system including CSEC. After secondary school there should be a variety of options (colleges both technical and academic) so each person can specialize in accordance with their God-given gifts and talents and their interests.
When will we celebrate and encouraged those that tried and did not regurgitate 30 passes?
Those that did not pass will be the contractor that build his home, the mechanic that service his car, the baker that makes the bread for him to eat, the farmer, fisherfolk, and the entertainers….etc so you see all must be celebrated equally if we are to have respectful balanced harmonious society.
STOP the division and separation of the youths. Let’s us celebrate all our youths and encourage all just the same.
If the people that has control of the system has not figured it out yet, and they are the educated ones like the one they seek to elevate above the others, that’s why they are clueless as to what is happening to the youth today.
They are busy creating scholistic division rather than EDUCATING the youths to work together and becoming responsible members of our community.
I think you are so correct. Everyone learns at different levels. Their learning maturity develops either later in life. We must celebrate with everyone. Find ways to help the slow ones so they can become better some day.
But seeking God first do help with our weaknesses He empowers us to overcome our failures.
Congratulations on passing all of your subjects! Continue to work hard and strive for excellence! Whatever path we choose, success doesn’t come easily in this life. ALL of our youths should be encouraged.
