Presently, I am feeling very appalled & perplexed as to why so many persons from the populace are upset that you are supporting UPP & more so running as one of their candidates in the political race.
Like any other citizen or resident, you are entitle to your own conviction and it is your God given right to act upon your conviction accordingly.
We are all living in a democratic society so it is up to you to exercise your constitutional right to support the political party as you see fit. Of course, your political persuasion should be respected by all.
Be that as it is, I’ve listened to you once or twice while you have been on the political platform, in parliament & on the radio talk shows and to this day I am yet to hear from you as to why you chose to support UPP over ABLP, DNA or even run as an independent candidate….. Of course, such decision is a personal & sacred one and hence, there is no law on our books to compel you to reveal to the public, such information if you choose not so to do.
It is a bit unfortunate though, that you have found yourself in this political quagmire. Of course, there is no one else to blame but yourself. Your decision of not resigning prior to your nomination has not sat well with the citizenry. Many persons perceived your actions to be deceitful, unscrupulous & unethical.
Furthermore, It has been alleged that you were uncertain about winning your seat in the general election and so, to safe guard your job in the civil service, you chose not to resign which contravenes what the constitution ask of a civil servant to do upon entering into an election ring as a political candidate.
Some of the constituents in your constituency are now left in a quandary and are now wondering if you are really the right choice to be the representative since they think your actions was very irresponsible.
Now Shugy this has led me to ask you a few questions
- Was guilt of your actions during the election, your primary reason for resigning?
- Did you read & understand the constitution before you were nominated ? If so, why didn’t you resign then?
- Do you think that your predecessor Mr. Cortwright Marshall was unfairly removed to give you a chance to run?
- Do you really have investors waiting on you or is it a repeat of the same trickery that the former PM used to try and get himself into office during a prior election?
- If we flip the coin and assume that Samantha was the one who did not resign at the time of nomination would you do the same and challenge her in court?
- Your constituency is showcasing an upgraded clinic, a police & fire station, an implemented educational program, and upgraded road & home infrastructure. which political candidate was these projects done under?
- Within your constituency there is a cross section of persons with different skillsets, why is sports the most advocated program on your agenda?
- As a counselor what is your approach towards those persons (young & old), who are in need of psychological help?
- You indicated that Samantha has not done anything in the constituency. What were you expecting from her during her tenure as the representative of the constituency?
- Should you loose the upcoming bi-election, would you bow out of politics gracefully or would you continue to be an advocate for UPP
- Is it true that your first resignation letter was back dated when it was submitted.
- Do you believe that a person should be penalized if the constitution has been violated. If yes how?
- Besides the basketball court which seems to be high on your agenda, what plans do you really have to bring about a substantial change in your constituency?

Neither YOU, SAMANTHA nor GASTON, provide any added value to the people, that is why after campaigning for just under 2 months that Shuggy was able to WIN the seat by nearly 200 votes over a two time representative, something that had never been done in that constituency before.
Pure nonesense and would seem to suggest that it is an ABLP operative trying to look and sound relevant. A person have every right to represent whatever political party they see fit. If one was to go from the results of the last election one can only conclude that Mr Simon made the right choice as he came up in the winning column and decisively. And going from what I have been seeing and hearing on the ground in St. Mary’s South, he is poised to win again when the bielection is called.
