SOURCE REAL NEWS: Nine house doctors at Mount St. John Medical Centre (MSJMC) have tested positive for the coronavirus and are out of rotation, sources close to the institution have revealed.
Four of the affected physicians are reported to be warded at the Infectious Diseases Centre, with one receiving oxygen therapy, and five are said to be recovering in isolation.
This situation is putting a strain on their colleagues, since the COVID ward and even the Paediatrics Department are affected by their absence, a source tells REAL News.
Once a person has been exposed to the virus, protocols dictate that he or she must be quarantined for a period of 14 days to determine whether there is spread, the source says.
However, with so many doctors out of commission, pressure is being put on the professionals in quarantine to shorten their observation period and return to work after seven days, the source claims.
This is the situation regarding a recent incident in which a COVID-positive patient – a pregnant woman – was allowed to come into contact with as many as eight healthcare workers in error.
The source warns that if the caregivers continue to be affected this way, it will have serious implications for the population.

The pregnant woman got in contact with them in error? Seriously? Weren’t they wearing their masks and PPE??? They also need a good ventilation and air purification system in the hospital with negative pressure rooms for highly contagious respiratory diseased patients.
I’m going to guess MSJMC doesn’t have those things.
It appears that doctors and patients are being infected with COVID in the hospital.
Also, all PPE is not created equal.
You can wear Mask and PPE but at some point some Doctors and Nurses will still get it . You have to be right 100 percent of the time this virus only once . Blessings to them all
It’s unfortunate that something like this should happen to these doctors and I’m wondering if the hospital has met the international standards to begin with,an observations I’ve had since this Covid-19 thing started was that while I accompanied a relative at the hospital I noticed that some staff were not wearing any mask but I said nothing about it,in fact I was praying to get out of there with my relative whom I was very concerned for because they are Asthmatic

I went to the ER some months ago and several patients were sitting in the waiting room without masks. No one said anything to them.
You’d think in a hospital, the security would be trained to make sure everyone is wearing a mask.
Please! everyone should wear a mask at all time.times we can not let our guard down. Protecting you respiratory passage, mucous membranes, and proper infection control techniques, are our only defense. Treat every patient as a positive patients until you have a negative results. A word for all those front line workers… please the phone that you people are using every day is going to take your all life. When you are on the job, you have to avoid using the phone. If you have to make a phone call, you have to undress, go through all the protective protocols, and then do you calls, once finished redress yourselves. Make sure the phones are all in a protective bag as well. You guys are not robots, you can all die too. Please be smart…
Just wait it will get worse. People better start educate themselves about this vaccination. They out here getting vaccinated with no test being done beforehand. If you have covid 19 and you are so called asymptomatic and you take any so called covid 19 vaccine, you can likely DIE. Matter fact the vaccination only protects against covid 19. Vaccination does not protect against B1.1.7, B.1.3.5, B.1.429. They claim to be the most contagious and deadly ones and the vaccine cant help you!! Steupes, i have had mine and it did not take my soul. Stop spreading junk, look at the amount of deaths, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Pray about it, and do whats best for you, protect yourself whether by vaccine, following strict protocols, staying isolated from others, with no non live in house persons getting into your space. Wearing of masks is one third of the protocols.Washing of hands,social distancing are the other two thirds of the protocols.They must all be followed at all times.You relent and Covid would hit you everytime.Speedy recovery to the Doctors and all of those infected with the Virus.

I pray that God may watch over the doctors who are ill and all others who would have contracted this virus. Let us continue to ask God to watch over our land.
This is exactly what we predicted would happen. The health services are being overwhelmed, our frontline workers and their families are suffering and heaven help you if you get covid now. The government knew this would happen but said they were prepared to let it happen because that is what business told them to do. Now all they can do is shout “look over there-a vaccine!” Yes we all need to get vaccinated, but any vaccination program will take at least 2 months to kick in here. In the meantime many are already getting sick and dying and many more will fall victim.
None of the protocols or strategies by the government make any sense.
Implement a strict curfew, which only serves to create large crowds of people at the supermarket or bank or pharmacy, etc. Again, this helps spread disease not contain it.
Don’t test any arriving tourists so you can pretend that tourists from high-COVID areas don’t spread disease.
Keep saying the country is COVID free without community spread even where there’s been a high degree of community spread for quite some time.
Negotiate a better CDC rating rather than improve or tighten protocols.
Implement a vaccine program in such a way that your vaccination locations have become superspreader events with no social distancing and people wearing masks incorrectly.
