Prime Minister Gaston Browne says tourist on the first international flight have all tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
“So far, we have tested approximately sixty tourists who came in on the first American Airlines flight and they all tested negative for COVID,” Browne said on his personal facebook page.
The prime minister used his social media platform to remind residents that “COVID is an invisible and formidable foe. However, we must not live in fear, paralyzed in terror, and rendered helpless in the face of this enemy.”
He called on residents to courageously, intelligently, and responsibly, live and work with COVID, while containing it adding “there is no other viable option at this time.”
Browne said “continued closure of our borders would destroy our economy and plunge our people into long term unemployment and poverty.”
He said “we have taken on a heightened level of risk to protect livelihoods and this requires extreme vigilance and strict adherence to the health protocols by all.”
According to the prime minister, the key to averting domestic transmission and ultimately, community spread, is vigilance and self discipline by all; to wear a mask as mandated by law, practice good hygiene etiquette, and social distancing as appropriate.

He doesn’t say what he means by “tested”! Have the antigen tests arrived, were they done by PCR? Or is he just trying to mislead us again?
You could be tested negative for Covid-19 today,Sunday.Tomorrow, you could be tested again and be positive for Covid-19. Do not take chances.Do not drop your guards,or else you could be knocked out,by Covid-19.
Thought it was the CMO job too disseminate such information.
Oh enough of the childish retorts. You actually sound disappointed to learn that none of the sixty visitors tested positive! What a people. Of course a test could be negative today and be positive tomorrow. In the same way, you are alive today but ciuld drop dead tomorrow. Is that a reason to not give God thanks today for being alive today? Please, enough of the ignorance.
