The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Centre has revealed fifty-eight (58) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 24th August 2021 at 6pm.
Nineteen (19) of these cases were recorded on August 23rd and thirty-nine (39) on August 24th.
The Epidemiology Unit is still in the process of ascertaining whether the cases are imported or non-imported. Once the information is verified, it will be published in a subsequent publication.
Two hundred and fifty-two (252) samples were processed at Sir Lester Bird MSJMC.
Twenty (20) recovered cases were recorded increasing the total to one thousand three hundred and thirty-three (1333).
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one thousand five hundred and ninety-eight(1598); which is inclusive of two hundred and twenty-two (222) active cases. There are twenty-one (21) hospitalized cases; sixteen (16) mild, two (2) moderate and three (3) severe.
Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated thirty three thousand and ninety-four (33,094) individuals while six thousand seven hundred and fourteen (6,714) have only received their first dose.

I would like for the CMO to give a breakdown. As to where the cases of Covid-19 are highly concentrated. A population of about 90,000 with 222 active Virus Cases and counting.

Seems to me the more people get vaccinated, the more cases of covid we have. What is going on. The airport is packed with thousands of visitors. I am sure they are vaccinated, but we know vaccinated people can shed the virus and infect others.
Don’t tell me we need more people vaccinated to achieve herd immunity because in Israel, over 80% of the people are vaccinated and they are still having a rapid increase in covid.
Sir/Madam, the more people in Antigua get vaccinated is not the more people get covid. It’s the opposite. If you will accept that I’m a healthcare professional with some knowledge of life support machines and oxygen devices please know that 9 out of 10 patients requiring those kinds of support are the unvaccinated. A couple of the vaccinated can catch covid. Again, they recover much faster and seldom requiring hospitalization. My stats come from what I see with my eyes, and touched with my hands. Antigua must get serious, this virus is deadly serious. Protect yourself and family.

What I would like to see that samples of blood taken from patient before and after the jab published the findings to acertain weather or not that the Vaccine is circulating

It probably is close to the peak right now and numbers are being hidden. The peak was only 455 active cases. And 5 days passed with no documentation…50 new infection last Friday…not to mention the airport super spreader event…
Yes, as the vaccine rolled out, we have a steady increase in cases. Why? Well let’s remember how we got this pandemic in the first place. Asymptomatic spread of SARS CoV 2. The distribution of the vaccine had some major negative effects on containment of the infection. One is that vaccinated people began to abandon the mask and distance protocols that limited the spread, falsely believing they were now immune. But the second is that vaccination not only failed to stop infection in the vaccinated, but vaccinated people who catch the virus are mostly asymptomatic spreaders who are not getting tested because the powers that be want to pretend that they’re immune. That’s why the cases are going up so fast. The vaccine resulted in the exact opposite of herd immunity because it just created a new class of silent spreaders who are flying completely under the radar. Did you notice the government closed the gyms and restaurants again, despite these being for vaccinated only? Keep your eyes open, folks. Actions always speak louder than words, especially when the words are lies.
