The Cabinet held a discussion about the pace at which the vaccination of the population is proceeding, and agreed that to achieve herd immunity, more residents and citizens must offer themselves to be vaccinated.
Several incentives were agreed including offering $50 food vouchers to every adult who steps forward to be vaccinated, and who brings others to the centers to receive their jabs.
Although more than 30,000 adult residents and citizens have stepped forward and have been vaccinated thus far, an additional 40,000 adults need to be vaccinated before herd immunity can be said to be achieved.

Since when did we have 100,000 adults in antigua? Astrazeneca is only approved for adults and we need 70% of the adult population for herd immunity.

SMH. And this is why I will never let these people force vaccinations on me. Achievement of herd immunity requires immunity of the vast majority of the entire population of people, not just the adults. As long as kids are not part of the vaccination effort, there is ZERO possibility of herd immunity and 100 percent probability that the virus will continue to mutate beyond the reach of current vaccines. But why are you even talking about herd immunity? Don’t you know that herd immunity requires the absence of variants? Didn’t you notice that the scientific community stopped talking about herd immunity?
When you vaccinate yourself you change your immune system irreversibility. You can’t undo it. So you have to be sure there’s no long term harm, such as increased risk of autoimmune disease being introduced or future complications such as antibody dependant enhancement like that seen in repeat dengue infection. As a rule, I don’t take any vaccine unless there is concrete long term data available about its safety…and I’m not talking about weeks or months. These vaccines haven’t been inside anyone nearly long enough to provide such data. And most vaccine candidates tend to fail upon examination of long term data. Lastly, being vaccinated against this increasingly outdated version of the coronavirus may actually make it harder for currently vaccinated persons to form new neutralizing antibodies when given future vaccines against the variants to come.
The virus is playing the long game of chess. It’s not going to go away soon. Meanwhile, the government seems to be playing checkers. Not good.
How can you achieve herd immunity from a “thing” that don’t make u immune to the virus?if you can still catch it and transmit it how can a population become immune? Would vaccinating the kids stop it from being caught and transmitted? They talking about mutation and different strains. If we can still catch it after being vaccinated how do we stop it from mutating? These are questions that needs to be answered. How long we gonna let fear let them tell us a bunch of bull stool? Well said….. I asked that same exact question…. what is the vaccine for really to stop corona or prevent it? Why does fully vaccinated people still have to wear mask if it’s to do either prevent or do they claim people still dying from it if the vaccine is to treat or prevent these people trying to use us as lab rats…

Why the minister keeps mentioning herd immunity. In an CNN interview with Anderson Cooper Biden’s Chief of Staff said Dr Fauci implied herd immunity do not apply to Covid – 19.
That’s because the vaccine is not a vaccine… it’s gene therapy and it only protects the individual from becoming sick enough to reguire hospitalization. When you mass vaccinate during a pandemic using a prophylactic “vaccine” you are putting the virus under pressure and causing immune escape ie variant. Prophylactic “vaccine” has to be given before an outbreak. The only way to achieve herd immunity during a pandemic is to allow the young and healthy population to become naturally infected with the virus. You protect the elderly, frail and vulnerable and let everyone else go about the business of living. Covid has a survival rate of more than 99% in all age groups except for over age 80. Encourage the young and healthy to boost their immune system. Most important way to do that is getting enough sunshine to make vitamin d. All the people that died in the cold countries were deficient in vitamin d. Having enough vitamin d prevents your immune system from causing a cytokine storm. Why isn’t Africa having millions of deaths? Why weren’t the homeless in America dropping like flies? Because they live outside which allowed them to accumulate sunlight. The majority that died were the elderly in care homes who didn’t get sunlight.
