Cabinet Secretary Konata Lee and three cabinet members have tested positive for COVID-19, but all are reportedly doing well and participated in yesterday’s virtual cabinet meeting.

Lee said he has had no major symptoms and is doing well in isolation, as are the three other ministers.

Two of the three Ministers received their results following rapid antigen tests and are awaiting the results from the PCR method.

The latest positive results follow the confirmation that Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin had also contracted the coronavirus.

The Attorney General said he has had no symptoms and will be back out to work soon once given the all-clear.

Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Lee is making it clear the members who have been infected were not in close contact with each other, as he pre-empted any notion of contagion among the executive arm of government.

He says the absence of any major symptoms can be attributed to the fact that all are fully vaccinated and boosted. He continues to urge members of the public to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols to curtail transmission.

  1. We need the names of these people so we can stay away from them. Don’t let them breathe on you. Identify them by name, please. I wish them all a speedy recovery, coupled with all good wishes.

  2. So why are they hiding the names of the minister’s from the public? Anyway, school children will soon reveal who they are.

  3. Those in Cabinet would want to keep their illnesses as secrets, while revealing that of others by names.Shameful on you Public Officials, the cover up is usually worse than the actual crimes.

  4. I believe that the test for Covid-19 is problematic also.
Too often we read about test results that come back positive, then negative, then positive etc. All within less than two days of tests being conducted on the same persons.

So my conclusion is that the tests are not absolutely conclusive, but rather there must be varying factors that determine whether the results come back as being positive or negative. Maybe it has to do with how the lab processes the swab or so.

Just giving my opinion which may not be valid but yet thoughts for consideration

  5. When Serpent Watt announced he had Covid-19,many did rejoice to include Members of Cabinet. Now the shoes are on their feet, not one drum is heard. They are running for the border and hide. Keep on running to Devil’s Bridge and jump over and swim east and not look back. My late mother once said to someone:When you spit into the air it would likely to fall back into your face. When you dig a ditch for someone, dig one for yourself also.Karma is a beach and then you die.

  6. Many business places are using the thermometer as their first method to identify whether or not patrons have been infected… This method is certainly not working well since persons have contracted the virus and their body temperature have not elevated to the danger zone…… Alternative measures may need to be looked at
