REAL NEWS- Several residents fell victim to robbers within a span of less than 24 hours, according to police reports.
The first incident occurred at the Babylon Fast Food Restaurant on the Old Parham Road at about 1 p.m. on October 11.
Reports say that an employee of the Cassada Gardens business was preparing food in the kitchen when a lone masked gunman walked in from an eastern door and told him to hand over all the money.
Allegedly, the perpetrator then ransacked the restaurant and stole two cellular phones, $300 in cash, and three small bags of coins.
Reports are that the robber, who was armed with a black-handled gun, was dressed in a black shirt and black long pants and was wearing a mask and a hat. He is approximately 5’ 8” tall.
The second incident, which occurred close to 10 hours later, involved a Paradise View business owner.
In that instance, a lone gunman held the victim at gunpoint and robbed him of a silver Toyota Rav 4 – A60921 – and a bunch of keys to their house and business place.
Reportedly, the man had just returned home from the business he runs with his brother.
As he pulled into the parking area, he was approached from the driver’s side by a slimly built male – dressed entirely in black and with a black mask covering his face.
The robber allegedly pointed a black handgun at him and forcibly removed him from the vehicle before pushing him to the ground.
The bandit then searched his pants pockets and removed the bunch of keys.
The assailant subsequently got into the vehicle, reversed, and sped away in an easterly direction.
After being alerted to what had happened, reports say the businessman’s brother recounts seeing the vehicle speeding past him on Friars Hill Road and heading south.
He reportedly gave chase but lost sight of the vehicle after it went over Michael’s Mount.
A search was carried out for the stolen vehicle, but without success.
This offence reportedly occurred at about 9:50 p.m. on October 11.
The third robbery, which also occurred in Cassada Gardens, at about 1 a.m. on October 12, involved a resident who was robbed of $600 in cash at gunpoint.
The man reportedly was walking along a by-road when two men – said to be of a slim build, dressed in black, and wearing hooded shirts and bandanas – approached and grabbed him.
Reports say that one of the bandits pulled a firearm while the other searched the victim’s pockets and removed the cash.
They then ran off through some nearby bushes.
Inquiries into all three incidents are continuing.
