Concerns are growing among hospitality workers in Antigua and Barbuda after a manager at a hotel, who was reportedly accused of sexual harassment, returned to work following a brief two-week suspension.

Many employees view this as nothing more than a “slap on the wrist” for a very serious allegation. Incidents like this raise troubling questions about whether hotel workers are truly protected when misconduct occurs, especially when the accused holds a senior management position.

Tourism is the backbone of Antigua and Barbuda’s economy, but maintaining world-class standards should also mean ensuring safe and respectful workplaces for employees.

When situations like this appear to have minimal consequences, it sends a worrying message to staff who may already feel afraid to speak up.

  2. @A Concerned Hospitality Worker: Allegations, allegations… Employees do not decide what is misconduct. Management and ownership does.

    Management and others thoroughly investigate reports like these but will always act accordingly to facts and not unproven allegations, gossip or rumours spread by disgruntled employees. Writing your unproven allegations on this website in order to smear the “non-national manager at a five-star hotel” could get you in hot water with the lawyers who represent the hotel in question, especially if you work at that hotel since your style of writing could be easily identified.

  4. How about you write about yourself. Tell the media what you have been up to. Maybe your unfounded Allegations are just that “Allegations”
    Write about how many workers you are sleeping with. Write about your other managers who Allegedly live with team members, have team members pregnant, having orgies with each other and the list goes on all aryu is 1 and the same so shut up now..

  5. Wait…..are the people being harassed so afraid to slap off this man if he gets fresh?

    You might get reprimanded or worse fired, BUT you can leave with your dignity and your head held high!
