A 15-year-old girl accused her 38-year-old male cousin of sexually assaulting her when she spent time at his home in August of this year.
The man, who was charged with rape and serious indecency, was granted bail before Justice Iain Morley in the High Court this morning.
The girl reportedly ended her visit early following the attack.
She reportedly developed an infection in her mouth sometime later and a report was subsequently made to the police.
The accused was granted bail in the sum of $25,000 with a $5,000 cash component.
As part of his bail conditions, the man has to report to a police station three times weekly, surrender all travel documents to the court and was ordered not to interfere with any witnesses in the case.
He was represented by attorney Dane Hamilton Jr. and Crown Counsel Shannon Jones-Gittens represented the crown at the hearing.
