Police have confiscated almost ten pounds of cannabis found on a parcel of land in the Carnival Gardens area.

The narcotics division and the K-9 Unit did a search in the area on Sunday when they made the discovery.

The drugs were found in a bag which contained several smaller bags.

There have been no reports of arrest.

Cannabis remains illegal in Antigua and Barbuda despite efforts to decriminalise small amounts of the substance.

Recently, the country passed laws in its parliament to permit the use of medical cannabis.

People, listen; although they said, three/four plants, they didn’t free up all the herb the plants produce, so watch yoir back cause they will lock you up if they catch you with more than the amount allowed.

  2. Who just leaves ten pounds of weed on a empty land???? Something wrong with this story…
