A Curse on the UPP

Giselle, Pringle, Lovell, Whenner, Mannix. Chaku, know what happened at the convention.

Lewis had a momentum going. The branches were supporting him. But they did not want Lewis to win.

They all know what they did and how they did it. They all know that while they were talking about code of conduct and both sides must stick to it, what they were doing to influence the voting. They also know who they gave what to vote  for them.

They all know what was going on in the confusion in the corridor at Perry Bay during the voting and what was happening with the people who were manning the boxes outside.

They need to say why they changed the order for voting decided to have the convention vote for the chairman first before the leader, and why they put the leader for last, and why they only had the vote for the leader after the chairman because some of the MPs protested.

They cheated in the 2019 convention and because Lewis was too busy making peace to confront them,  they got away with it, they expected to cheat again in 2023 convention and don’t expect any body to protest?

UPP will never know any unity until they come out and admit that they CHEATED in the convention.

UPP was never like this. Can’t you see something is wrong?

There is a curse on the party because of the cheating and they know is because of what they did.

God nar sleep.

Dishonesty is what has happened. People got position because of dishonesty and there is punishment in the UPP. That is why all this is happening.

  1. And the UPP cannot win no election with Giselle puppet Pringle as the leader. They can continue to fool themselves, Giselle, Harold, Chaku, Mannix and Whenner.

  2. If true, this so-called UPP member is playing right into the ABLP’S (and Gaston Browne’s in particular) hands.

There are a 101 things going wrong in my beloved Antigua; and yet the focus is on the comings and goings of the party.

    Former members must know this.

In the meantime, the country still suffers from a high cost of living; unsuitable housing; Cronyism and nepotism; continuous water shortages; and an atrocious road infrastructure.

Yet instead of former members focusing on the above nationwide problems, they play into the ABLP’S gameplay of deflection and dead cat narratives.

In the meantime the citizens will suffer …

  3. Brixtonian the UPP members are just honest. This has nothing to do with ABLP. Giselle and her group thief the convention and they continue to talk about Pringle being elected by democratic process. After the UPP lose the next election I hope Giselle can go rest herself and Pringle can step aside and the UPP rebuild.

  4. The ballots were fair. What wasn’t fair was the happenings while the voting was taking place. Chaku for one never entered the convention room. While the other side was being chided from campaigning Chaku sat at the door and as everyone passed he said to then to vote Pringle.
On the night of the convention Pringle was giving out some trumpets and other items. It would be fair if he told the nation who sponsored them. Did any member of the Labor party contributed?
If this was just an internal party election why was Whenner so over the cloud when Pringle was declared “winner”? For those who were not present let me tell you what he did. Like a ghetto yute he took of his shirt and sped across the convention hall and said “take that in all you tail”. Was that necessary or was that the reaction of a man who had something to lose should Pringle lose?
Post election/convention there are questions that need answering. Has the party lost any of its financiers since the convention? Has there been attempts by financiers or party advisors and well wishers to have Pringle step aside and allow the party to grow?
This question is directly to Pringle. Did you Mr Pringle say to any friend prior to the convention that you do not believe that you are the right man to lead the party and don’t think you can however you are being pushed to go along? Did you say to anyone that you were not prepared for the role of leader?
The party can heal. The party can regain lost grounds however the right and principled thing has to happen. A good constituency representative doesn’t make on prime minister material. I will vote for Pringle every day as a constituency representative however I will maintain that he is not the best fir for a party leader and worse a prime minister.
Olsincebthe convention we have has several press statements under the name of the political leader. How many of them have come from his writings and how many of them were issued even when he was away? Chester Hughes said that a former public servant was rejoicing when she was elevated to status above her competencies and capabilities. In short order she was dropped like a hot potato. Pringle please remember this. The higher one climbs the more his/her ass becomes exposed. You are a grown man. Don’t allow yourself to be used, abused and misused. You out to know that this is beyond you and say I will give it up. This is testament by the fact that since you election to party leader you have had less than ten meetings with your parliamentary colleagues.
    Enough said!!!!!!

  5. Gouvelma you have correctly covered it. You must be a party insider. Pringle as you say can be a good constituency rep but being prime minister he would be out of his depths. Pringle cannot write nutten to save his life. Anything written under his name come from the Chair. I understand that not even in their party chat Pringle has ever written or commented on anything. The young man is just not prime minister material. It is that simple.

  6. DISHONESTY. DISHONESTY. I heard Pringle in an interview with SPIN JAQUI QUINN yesterday. This Guy has been saying to the Nation that all is well with UPP. He admitted that the party is divided and the internal fighting is HUGE. Pringle looks very disturbed and incoherent. UPP will have THREE more resignations within two weeks.

    Sean Bird will resign

Serpent and Shugy will go independent

How the hell Pringle want to win election with the current state of UPP. SHAME.

BRIXTONIAN and ZACKIE having sleepless nights.

  7. That’s the truth at the convention, hostility to people who seem objective in preference to old people who are barely literate and blue, if you talk about the concentration should be on Gaston corruption, the upp is on the road to corruption when chaku and whenner intimidate people to do as they say, it was pre-planned from the branch level who the branches must support, the branch chair person did not let it be known that all the contenders are for the good of the party, and for whenner to be all about the convention in a jubilant mood shirt off shouting take that in you nen nen, was he confusing Richard Lewis to be Gaston brown who is the real enemy? With all Pringle gaffs before the convention that he like Gaston forcefulness and he take bull by horn and they still forced an intelligent public to support him. His continuous walk out of parliament because of lack of capacity that you now see sherfield bowen presenting, I even think the opposition would have gain more public support if they had stayed in parliament and voice their opposition to the huffing of the alpha Nero boat, they would have gone down in history vocally rather than silence which was ambiguous, I really see this country need rescue from the hands of this ALP gang, we were disappointed with Lovell high etiquette when dealing with a thug and now Pringle want to have political internship at the people suffering, just swallow your pride Pringle and step aside and don’t embarrass your family and your future in politics like this, you are going to be one a political heckle something like Longford Jeremy, I for one is disenchanted, if you Pringle was a good person as proclaimed ,you would not have engaged in this shenanigans leadership fiasco we are in now, you would have acknowledge that you held the gate open for future evolving of the party by others, we should see a common destiny, it’s easy to see all your subordinates are more eloquent speakers than you Pringle, if Pringle had Franz gymnastics semantics ability, what a thing that would be for Gaston, with Pringle been the leader all the other ministers have to lay back so it doesn’t look like they are usurping the leadership, which Richard Lewis is accused of for doing his job he is paid for as an opposition, I don’t see any movement forward for upp now, they will have to contend with been a few seats in opposition and not dream of government, that convention might have been engineered by interest from outside, who saw the imminent bi-election in st Phillips north and create the Pringle debacle that cause Anthony defection that save the labor party on office today. MN up and see you wrong Pringle.

MAN up and see you wrong Pringle.

  9. People say Giselle is a strong woman and has more balls than the men in the UPP. Whether she is strong or not she cannot handle strong people. She could not stand any of the intelligent strong women in the Party such as Joanne Massiah, Dr. Cleon Athill, Rachel Collis and Jermaine Edwards. She is supposed to be a writer by training but any day Jermaine Edwards is a much better writer. Giselle support for Pringle is that if the impossible should happen and he becomes Prime Minister, she would be the prime minister because Pringle is just a puppet.

  10. SHARL even there young brilliant PRO Damani Tabor might leave as well. Any one who supported Lewis in the convention is being pushed aside and Pringle and Giselle talk about mending fences and bringing the Party together. Giselle is the most divisive force in the Party and they all know it including Baldwin Spencer and Harold Lovell.

  11. People! There is a RUMOR spreading even by some learned practioners that the UPP lost the election/gaining governance by six (6) votes. Where are the facts? UPP currently has six (6) seats. If the OL at that time had won his seat that would make seven (7) along with the Barbuda representative. Did the St Peters representative promise to align with them in Parliament? Maybe a better way to put it is that it is because of six votes why they are so many members resigning. On the situation of Leader of Opposition (and some learned constitution lawyer can correct me) Do the Opposition MP’s between themselves decide who they want as Opposition Leader and send it to the Governor general to appoint that person? Does anyone think that the now LO/OL after having that fat salary and the chairperson who is benefiting from his status are going to relinquish their role in the party?

  12. How the hell the following persons are representing the UPP in the media ?

JOAN McEWEN ( OBSERVER RADIO ). She is loud . Don’t know the hell she is talking about. I hope Hon. Gaston Browne will sue Her for defamation.

IAN ( MAGIC ) HUGHES , this Guy was incarcerated 12 months for MOLESTATION. These are the characters that on the campaign field for UPP.

I will call in today on POINTE FM to advise the Prime Minister to sue JOAN , MAGIC and OBSERVER RADIO for DEFAMATION.

These are the characters that are CURSING UPP.

  13. This article is true, I was there. They also manipulated the list of voters and did block voting for Central Exe members and elected officers of the party, which was forbidden. They sent a list around on the day, I saw it.

  14. @Gouvenia 👏🏼👏🏼Excellent summary of affairs. Clear as our ocean blue waters. At this moment in time people of UPP lineage, you can still “save” the status of your party. You can still remain or reborn as a strong opposition party in Antigua and Barbuda as you once were. Clearly we have seen now; because of insiders or actual participating members having uncovered the truth of the matters; the shameless turmoil going on within The UPP. As a political party, you owe it to the nation, comprised by people who lead you where you were the day UPP won the national election declaring Dr. Baldwin Spencer as the new Prime Minister. Much was accomplished during his tenure and sure, many will say today that much more could and should have been done and we agree and at the same time recognize that it wasn’t an easy task coming from years of ABLP ruling’s. We recognize as well that many factors came in the way of advancing the country as they, UPP government had planned. Too long and unnecessary to mention now for the sole reason that it belongs to the past that we cannot change, and the nation and the party have to “DEFINITELY” move forward walking towards the future. All that said; UPP members pick up yourselves, stop the in-fighting, according to your laws and regulations get rid in a hurry of all those and all that which are leading you to clearly loose respect, recognition and mist importantly the next election. You have time. Hurry and do what you need to do without fear, one thing for sure is getting a leader that can become the next Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda; the main purpose of any opposition party or for that matter, for any party. So with all consideration sir, we ask the actual UPP leader: do you think that voters from your party and beyond are going to elect you PM after all that we are seeing, hearing, reading and, don’t approve of what is going on with you, the higher powers within the party, the members defection (for whatever reasons that are not in you or us to judge at this point simply because it already happen and can continue) and all other daily ‘dislocation’ that are coming up. Please, just put an end to this. Political parties here and around the world win, stay afloat or loose according to the people’s will, power, words and decisions. The Leader has to be an electable candidate to become the PM, giving might and power to all your candidates to win their respective seats in their constituencies by the votes of the people. Hurry, look deep inside and make your moves.

  15. @Lynn to put it simply Pringle and Giselle need to do what Biden and the Democratic Party did in America to try to save America from Donald Trump. Biden step down and Pringle and Giselle need to step aside so we are put in a better chance to save Antigua from Gaston and the ABLP.

  16. I remember there was a time when
    You guys wanted Pringle,
Apparently now you change you mind and now beating him left right and center!
    Make up your minds labourites
You guys are so emotional and
    Temperamental
Upp have you guys up in arms🤣

  17. not a “curse” but GAD KUSS!!! Datta wah pan upp.

  18. Pringle is NOT a Negotiator, he is not a Speaker, He is not a Leader He Cannot Govern a Country. He cannot even get his Colleges to return His calls. That’s SAD.

  19. After having listened to Jamal Pringle’s interview last Friday with Dr. Jacqui on Observer, I wonder if the so called political commentator like Audley Phillip and Brix, still want to blame the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party for the turmoil that is happening in the UPP. It is quite obviously this is a serious internal WAR. No external fire going on here. The long expected Convention went really wrong and no matter what, fences cannot be mend. As Pringle himself said, they do not even return his calls. They do not want to meet with him. This is sad. Sad for a political party to have such a toxic situation to deal with. All jokes aside but, if they do not do something about it soon, sorry but the only thing left will be to really close shop. Pringle said he will announce ten(10) new members who will be care takers. So they will continue to handpick persons to run. Like putting more fuel on the fire. Yes a leader must be strong, but I think Pringle thinks that Browne does these things without consulting his executives and negotiating. Look how the fences between him and Dean Jonas have been mended. Dean now accept a post as Ambassador at Large. It’s like a title with nothing to do. But at least you get paid. And he is now under the protection of Chet. Dean we know is not a people’s man. Everywhere he goes he rubs people the wrong way. As they had told Hilleary Clinton, she is not ‘likeable’. Same with Dean. He is not likeable. I mean we have told the voters that voted for the UIPP that they made a big mistake. And thank God he saved us from the embarrassment that was to happen had they won the election. Antigua and Barbuda would have had to go into another election within one year. Because the ABLP would easily win a vote of NO-Confidence in the Prime Minister Jamal Pringle. He would have lost minister after minister. Thank God he spared us that embarrassment. I can’t even imagine how it would look to be the laughing stock of the Caribbean and perhaps the whole world. And strange thing is in 2004 Roy Boyke predicted this would have happened to the UPP. He even then saw that the infighting would have cost them the government. Many of you perhaps forgot that Wilmouth Daniel didn’t go to work for over a year, because of his gripe with his colleagues and the Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer. He even wrote him a letter stating that one of his colleague trying to bribe him. And Spencer did nothing. And after the 2009 election we saw those that lost their seat not even remaining connected with the party. And in 2014 almost all that lost their seat, one must remember only Pringle won his seat, left the party. Apart from Lovell they never offered themselves up for office again. They accomplished their goal. State Pension for life.
That is reason why i do not trust people like Lamin Newton. I can smell him from far. All he is after is to see if he can secure a State Pension. A UPP mentality. PM please take note. I know your eyes are shut when it comes to Lamin. But I can tell you, his intensions are not pure. Anyway. I hope Brix and Audley stop blaming the Labour Party for the infighting in the UPP. They have nothing to do with it. And Audley as I told you there is no need for the PM to call snap election. It is smooth sailing until 2028. He needs to focus on running the country and passing the unpopular policies and bills. Like moving the vendors from Market Street. And do something about the Police Hiarchy.

  20. @ LESS WE FORGET

You put it together very nicely. AUDLEY . BRIXTONIAN ZACKIE and others blaming Gaston for UPP demise. Jamale Colleagues DO NOT return His call. BIG internal problems for UPP. Form a new PARTY.

  21. I’m not certain what in Antiguan or Caricom terms “progressive” doctrine is defined is but here in the US it’s neocommunism, adherence to imposition of and adherence to the tenets of Cloward-Piven, Marx and the socioeconomics of the WEF. Progressivism has destroyed america.
You folks need to keep a close eye on what’s happening in the US as, if progressivism takes root in Antigua you’re doomed to the same future as our present. I don’t think you’ll enjoy that.
